Gradašnik depot and maintenance of some of my fictional liveries passenger coaches.

Comparing to Vlasenik, Gradašnik is way smaller and sleepy mining town, i decided to design it as tribute to all those small US towns i go through as a truck driver.

Velika Vrnja mine branch line passing under main line. Its 6 km long:

Map of cca 30 km stretch i'm working on now:

Vlasenik to Gradašnik landscapes and infrastructure:

Vlasenik, some work was done on city itself and station:

Dijamant facility in Vlasenik:

Vlasenik to Zlatica. Whole gorge is imagined as a tribute to decaying railroads of eastern Serbia Požarevac - Majdanpek, Majdanpek - Bor, Bor - Zaječar and Zaječar - Niš lines, which mostly serve needs of large petrochemical complex and huge Bor copper mine but go to some very desolate parts of the country:

Zlatica area is pretty bare bone for now, but one look on that tiny village from Goruševac peak. It will be full station tho with three tracks passing loop:

Due to the nature of my job, progress on this route will be very slow, im at home only five days per month. I also opted to use very old Czech content (AŽD) as signalling system since its the closest one to our (except capability to show direction) but i guess it's matter of time when it will become faulty and stop working.

Denver & Rio Grande Western. the ACTION! road.

Finally got landscaping and track laid at Soldiers Summit, Utah. If memory serves I have 27 miles of the route done. This truck stop seems to be the focal point and just a few houses left, like three of them! On Google Earth and Street View a bunch of foundations are still visible, bet the town was maybe 500 people for its population in the glory days maybe 10 or so now.

Next screenshot is of the Wry at Soldier's Summit. This was a division point and there was a little town here, but due to the harsh winters the Rio Grande moved the division point down to Helper, Utah. Soldier Summit was named for six soldiers that froze to death during a storm at this location.

Decided the new route needed some dedicated passenger car storage for the local historical society excursion trains... Below are some various shots of those facilities. They have both diesel and steam excursions. Light repairs and maintenance are done on site, while major ones are done at the nearby CPKC repair facilities. The wash station was relocated from the end of the one shed in favor for along side it instead.

D&RGW. the ACTION road!
WfTYeg.jpg

Worked up to the beginning of Gilly Loop, well actually there are 3 levels right in a row where the D&RGW climbs quite a bit in a short distance. This is west of Soldiers Summit.

Could not resist a little action scene. MOW crew grading the dirt service road. The road should be closer to the tracks but then the dirt and ballast get fouled up with weird visual effects.

D&RGW - the ACTION! Road
Soldier Summit Route under construction using only built in and download station items.
Plug and play....well, lets hope!

Cool location on the second level of the Gilley Loop. A decent sized mesa formation that the D&RGW circles around gaining elevation if heading towards Soldier Summit. I found the sage brush today on the download station.

Another screenshot as Spring is in full display this May morning in Utah. Trying to get the vegetation more like the real thing. Had too many trees especially tall pines that looked good but were not proto-typical. FPS good too!
