Thanks for the feedback, guys!

Doing a little more jumping around here, I decided to return to my own side of the state line and do some work on South Haven, Kansas, located roughly two and a half miles north of the Oklahoma state line, in Sumner County. My grandma grew up close to here. Her family had a farm between here and Caldwell, KS off US-81 highway. I visited this area driving her and my great aunt around just last week, but since I was on an unrelated mission, I passed on doing much BNG research in this area.

The MRL engine here isn't really too far off. The real BNG currently has an EWLX six-axle (the exact model escapes me at the moment) of MRL descent, still decked out in blue. There's also a pretty sweet EWLX SD18 that roams the BNG still in full Chessie System dress that I've seen a couple times. Might be a future reskin project...

The BNG crosses US-81/Main Street on the north end of South Haven, just north of the US-166 junction. US-81 turns and heads east out of town and crosses the BNG again as Stuart Street, and Main Street continues south as US-177, which the BNG will follow almost all the way to Blackwell, Oklahoma. None of that is seen here though, because that part of town is still pretty bare...

I'm not done building this town up - not even close - but I am for tonight.

Finished the progress that I started yesterday. The station and village is Fox River Grove.

For anyone that's wondering about the memorial that's a grave from the 1995 Fox River Grove bus–train collision incident. You can read more of what happend here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_Fox_River_Grove_bus–train_collision
I've already asked a friend of mind if he'll be willing to create it via commission. I'll show an updated screenshot of the area when the time comes.

Nice routes around the 4 states (KOAM).

Actually, this particular route is set west of the 4-state region. South central Kansas and north central Oklahoma. Though technically, this route does feature a little bit of US-166 highway, that goes out to Coffeyville and Baxter Springs. I used to live in the area though, so maybe a route out there isn't off the table, once I'm satisfied with this one.

@hiawathamr Good work there. That's really unfortunate for a bus to get hit by a Metra train. I looked closely at the stop position that bus was in, it couldn't fit on the other side of the Crossing

It was unfortunate. The entire design I don't think was setup good with spacing, and with how the traffic signals coordinate with the crossing signals when they are activated. From the crash I think the signals are more setup to coordinate with everything but don't know for sure.

Screenshots from today. If I remember I'll try to get a fall screenshot in here as well when I share tomorrows fun:

After digging around my Trainz archive I found the Metra units that where hosted on SAXRT's Trainz site years ago. Amazing that I still have them so I took them for a run:

Great shots. The only thing that jars me is the light pools under the streetlights. it doesn't look natural - especially in daylight.

Thanks for the kind words everyone :)

@HiBaller I agree the light pools aren't realistic at all, not like how they where back in the older versions of Trainz. I think its time for a lighting update if you ask me.

Cheers

Nice shots! First obvious question is how did you get the effect of plowing the snow up between the roads? Especially with leaving the intersection clear? Great job!
