Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

I did a little "Scouting Out" if you will today.

As I wrap up trackage and scenery up to Bowie State MARC I will now need to expand track and lay scenery up to Odenton MARC Station.

So in order to capture the feel of Odenton I drove out there today to take some pics of and around the station. I focused on some specifics that might show up in later screenshots because I have a friend who might be able to make me some more custom content. I saw 2 regionals in the 15 mins I was there but right before the first one came I got a "Camera Full" message which stunk.

Oh well at least I got some good horn action.

A little FYI for those not too acquainted with the lower MD part of the NEC, after finishing up to Odenton BWI Airport will be the next stop. The first Amtrak stop since New Carrollton and the first Acela stop since D.C.

But thats a ways off.

Just an update,

Davis

@milkeyoreo27:

Thanks yeah its going alright. I might get to jam on it a little tonight but definitely more so this weekend. Its a matter of getting over to may dad's place.

@jamal17:

No I will tell you when and that is not soon. I will upload it when I finish up to Baltimore which is phase 1 then I'll continue on to wherever as Phase 2 (i.e. Perryville or Wilmington).

@srr89:

Exactly Robby thank you.

Greetings from Chester, PA one of the towns along the NEC between Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I would like to say based off the photographs of the real NEC and the one you're making I can honestly say this is amazing and it's like looking into a mirror. Very acurate portraying of the NEC. I just have one question how busy is the NEC in your area. I'm just curious because up here we only have the typical Amtrak trains, Acela and SEPTA. (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority) We also have a Conrail Shared Assets line running along the Delaware River and an occasional night time NS (Norfolk Southern) freight on the NEC in the middle of the night. In conclusion I am pleased with the route and just curious about how much NEC traffic including commuter and freight runs through your area.

Yeah that's right as you know that most Norfolk Southern trains run between Perryville to Baltimore so mean Norfolk Southern trains runs on NEC a while at night time to morning at all...

I believes that intermodels, coal, and manifest trains that's it. That which those trains from Baltimore and Enola...And, somewhere on north (west) or (east)

i can tell this is going to take long because youre talking about doing 9 states right there, but its ok because im going to be the first one to get it:) ;) :)

Yes it will be freeware because so far its cost me nothing and for whatever reason if it does cost me something it will syill be free.

I'm not sure what your problem is with the Acela but if you could clarify maybe I can (or someone else here can) help.

Thanks for the kind words.

Davis:)

That's happening with me too. I'm sorry to inform you that I haven't looked into it yet but I think starting a thread in the help section or PMing the creator will go a long way. Tell me if you can find anything and I'll do the same for you.

Thanks

Davis

The problem is that the acela is extremely outdated here. We need a content creator to come up and make a new one that actually functions normally and has good textures.

Update 11.23.09 --

Hello all NEC Fans,

This weekend I spent a ton of time on the computer working on this route. This is what I accomplished:

1. Finished Bowie State MARC Station and surrounding area with scenery done.

2. Finished track from Bowie State through Odenton and a bit further.

3. Finished laying all tracks for Odenton MoW Base.

4. Finished scenery from Bowie State to just below Odenton MARC Station.

5. Finished MoW Base with scenery.

6. Added detailed objects like prototypical switch levers small track objects, signals, turnout frogs, gantries, etc. Also, named everything prototypically.

These are the new block signals included within this section.

- Arundel - (Standard Block Station) - NB Signals are 1184, they are guarding territory up to the next block signal. SB Signals are 1185, they are guarding territory up to the BOWIE Interlocking Signals and have the appropriate heads for the block before an interlocking.

- Patuxent - (Standard Block Station) - NB Signals are 1164, they are guarding territory up to the next block signal. SB Signals are 1165, they are guarding territory up to the next block signal.

- No Name (Adjacent to Odenton MoW Base on Main) - (Standard Block Station) - NB Signals are 1144, (GRADE RULES APPLY) they are guarding territory up to the GROVE Interlocking Signals and have the appropriate heads for the block before an interlocking.

I have started work on the Odenton station area. Parking lots platforms and walkways have been started on the SB side and the NB side has been outfitted with its platforms.

Just an update and guess what guys! After Odenton comes BWI and thats the first Amtrak stop after New Carrollton.

Seeya guys!

Tremendously, its just a pain in the a** to do anything which really is working against progress. But, its all worth it in the end. TBH it started slowing down once I made it up past New Carrollton.

That stinks... any news on the TCR website? I would contact Mike, but I've had PC problems and this PC doesn't have AIM.

Ahh, alright. Hopefully it'll be in time for my PC to return from HP in Texas(power supply exploded. Again.)
What damage was done by the power supply exploding? If it exploded twice you may want to think about getting a bigger one...because obviously something is sucking the power, and you don't have enough to go around.

Not much damage, it just went pop and stopped working, this isn't the first time it's happend since I purchased it a month ago. I had to return the PC to HP and have it exchanged, and then it happened twice over. Anyways, sorry for hijacking this thread.
