Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

Ok i think this is great progress. my question is have you ever yet visited baltimore station?

Yeah I have been there alot along with most other NEC stops on its Middle Division. Why do you ask?

<<hey this thread has more posts than that Surveyor Tips and Tricks thread!!! WOW>>

Thats not really an accomplishment.

Thank you for your time

Davis

Yeah I have hard talk about it being a Marylander but I haven't seen that video so thanks that was interesting to watch.

I dont seeing it happening any time soon as well. Its supposed to follow the RoW of the NEC...

Hey, glad to see that this is still going strong! Sorry if I've asked this before and just forgot the answer, but will you be able to put this on Trainz 06?

Also,
Does anyone know if milkoreo finished his m8 train befoe summer ended.

marinemania

I never did get to it, but TCR seems to have a perfected version of it :)

Currently it is in an 09 only format but as soon as someone can convert it or tell me hiow to convert it into an older version I will not hesitate to do so.

Thanks

Davis

Actually the m8 rail car messed up my copy of trainz classic's now I can't set any passenger related industries or use the modula city 2004 or the harlem line routes without incuring problems of where passengers of trainz 09 pop on my platforms and my passenger trains but the m8 works fine when it has passengers it just when I use the budd spv, the Pullman Acmu 1100, the M7A and M7B, the shoreliner car and cabs 1 and 3 the give me some serious problems man.

Davis,

If this is an 09 project, that's exactly what it is going to stay. Unlike previous versions of Trainz, this one is impossible to back date a route from 09 to any other version. Due to the knew 5Km baseboards. Also they are set up differently, and therefore, when you click on the route in 06, 04, or any other Trainz, you will get a "No map selected" error.

The route looks great though, very good job!

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

I am pretty sure you are right but I could have sworn that someone had done it before.

Being built for T9 and not backwards compatible to T6. Oh well, I refuse to use T9 and am sticking with T6. Good luck with your continued creations. :-)

I think it might be physically impossible based on other posts I have seen both here and at TPR. Something about the baseboards being different sizes or something like that.
I'm sticking with T6 as Marias Pass works in T6, but not T4, and I like Marias Pass.
Anything built on T4 that T6 complains about. Well, I'll just have to dive into understanding why it's complaining. That or understand how to change a car that I dont have the kuid for to a car that I do in a given layout.
Hope your well. Life is good here, looking forward to the cool fall temps here in Northern VA. That and looking forward to CSX triple tracking the RF&P (if VA can get money that is). :-)

How far will they triple track to? Acca Yard in Richmond or only like to Quantico?

Question:
How far will they triple track to? Acca Yard in Richmond or only like to Quantico?

Here is what I know so far as of Oct 2009. They are working on reinstalling the third track from AF south to just north of the Franconia/Springfield Metro/Vre. I'm told they are doing it a mile at a time. I have not seen it yet, but plan on riding the VRE with my 6 year old son, Steven, the beginning of Nov from Fredericksburg into DC, then poke around for a few hours and head back. Some good Father/Son bonding time. So I'll be able to get an up close view of what's going on.

Beyond that VA has submitted a request to triple track from South of Powels Creek through Quantico to Arkendale. Weather or not VA gets that money is a big question. They have also submitted a second request to triple North of Powels to Springfield. Another big if. Between Fredericksburg and Acca Yard is an idea, but not funded and not sure if the funding has even been requested.

CSX has created their "Gateway" expansion for DC to lower the track at LaFant Plaza, lower Virgina Avenue and a few other places so they can run double stacks. That is still up in the air funding wise as far as I know.

Hopefully in the next couple of years these items will get funded as stacked trains will result in a few fewer trains which will make VRE and MARC and Amtrak happy.

I do know that the expansion at the Woodbridge VA VRE/Amtrak station is almost complete. Should be totally done by Nov 1. They have added a Franconia/Springfield style over the tracks walkway connecting Route 1 with the parking lot. They have also shifted the west most track to the west to align with the new platform. And I'm hoping they have left enough room to add a third track. Otherwise they would have to go from 3 to 2 back to 3 at each flyover station, would would be nutty if they didn't plan that far in advance. Route 1 will become a kiss and ride lot and it will make VRE and Amtrak happy as they will now be able to load both North and Southbound trains from the West track which I'm pretty sure is 3 as the right northbound track is 4. Or maybe it's 3west, 2east (south/north). Can't remember, but i know it's not 1,2.

Exciting times, but still some major hurdles.
:-)

Thanks for the update!

It seems to be about alot of money and politics so I'll just roll with what we get.
Keep me posted though I really appreciate the updates and enjoy the trip with your son! Also, if you take pics from the train please feel free to post them here if you would like.

Thanks

Well there is a glimpse of hope still left... I do not have any projects currently. Plus, i am a content creator with 2006. If you want, just give me a .CMPA (Content Manager Plus Archive) of your content and i can probably publish the 2006 version.

Will that work even if I get it out of 09 archives?

Just a quick note. Took VRE from Fredericksburg into DC today with my 6 year old son Steven. Could look out the lower front window the whole trip in. South of Franconia/Springfield Metro/VRE stop is a double crossover (Ravensworth Interlocking). Just north of the platform off track 2 (the east most track, the west most is track 3, track 1 is down in Fredericksburg), they have started to cut in the third main which will run from here north to AF. There is already a 3rd main from AF to long bridge. The rail is waiting for the roadbed to be built. They are busily working on it, but not sure if they are 6 months away or 12 months. The new signal bridges are in place with the signals turned. I presume there will be at least 1 or maybe 2 cross overs between Springfield and AF, maybe one at the top of the Franconia Hill. Control boxes were installed and being wired up. There is a "no signal" weekend next weekend which will cause havoc for VRE trains on Mon the 16th of Nov to the point that only 3 northbound trains will run in the AM and 3 in the PM southbound. Not sure if it's related to the 3rd track, I presume it is.
Hope this helps, if I can get over to Franconia by car (you can see the action from a public street, Franconia Road), then I'll post updates.
