Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

that prr rout also contains new york to harrisburg and harrissburg to altoona with the horseshoe curve!!!as far as content weather it is prototypical or not there is very little vaporware coming from msts right now its primitive and old but the creators are doing the best they can with an outdated canvace to work from while trainz creators are either not finishing there content of sitting on it for instance what ever happened to the superliner updates from the marias pass payware route never happened how about the amfleets and veiwliner sleepers that never came out I could go on and on so before we downplay msts lets look at the facts there content is more plentyfull

Well MSTS creators don't have to make the content as detailed as trainz needs. If you take a MSTS mesh and plop it into trainz without any modifications it will absolutely look like crap. Train however needs to be more detailed to look decent unless you want absolute crap. Routes also take a long time because you must place every tree, or blade of grass if you desire.

I agree with you as it relates to the quality of content as I do know that the quality of content that does come out in trainz is far superior to that of msts ,msts is a dinosur compared to trainz it only has one version with an update from years back but trains has consistently come out with later versions and improved itself over the years Im just saying that the creators in microsoft (many of them not all of them ) actually release the content that they advertise aspecially the us content I would love to be a content creator my self I just dont know where to begin and im not that computer savy.

You could start at turbo squid but i'm not really sure that trainz still supports gmax from turbo squid models, does any one know.

just for your information the teams who created msts and flight simulator were layed off and will perimantly will be as billgates doesn't find the software that was made by those production teams as proftable as it computer parts.

My friend actually has the Amtrak engineer's manual and he gave it to me. It is the brand new 2009 edition and has every single signal type used throughout the syetm (all the pennsys over east over course) all the horn commands, arm commands, etc. It has a speacial NEC section too so I think Im covered.

I thought the PRR route was supposed to be on the proposed MSTS2 (that was never released). Are you saying that you have the PRR route, Harrisburg to Altoona and the Horseshoe Curve ?

I must say that msts has a new route called the prr route and it includeds the nec from nyc penn station to washington dc it is very impressive...snip...that prr rout also contains new york to harrisburg and harrissburg to altoona with the horseshoe curve!!!

So, is this particularly why MSTS meshes are generally hard to put into trainz?

Yes beyond the confusing scripting to import it into a 3D Modeling program and then into Trainz you also need to make major mesh and texture improvements.

The whole process is time consuming and hard and some even say its impossible with some models....

Why don't you stop using my thread as a place to ask questions about irrelevant stuff. I welcome comments on my photos and work and questions pertaining to stuff. However, I do not put up with letting you use this as your own questioning grounds.

This route is still a work in progress, and won't be done for a long time.

Yes that is correct. However, it will be probably a TCR-exclusive release.

I plan on releasing an NEC sample which will consist of trackage between Bowie State, MD and Washington D.C. That will hopefully be done by December if not sooner but I will not put an official date on that.
