I only have three during train day d.c. came they had a vre p40h and that mp36ph-c in marc color but i also snaged several cab shots of a (what i believe was) m2 on the metro north new haven line too when I was in nyc for the 4th of july weekend. I also got a photo of several stations its just i haven't been able to post them.

Hi, I love the NEC, its my favourite American railway and I was just wondering why at signal gantry's are there 2 and 3 signals above each over per line like in this photo?

That displays more complex signal indications. With just one signal head you can do:

Green: Clear
Yellow: Slow Approach
Red: Stop

On mainlines you typically see a stack of two and on mainline interlockings you typically see a stack of three.

With this a Green over Yellow could mean line ahead is clear for 2 signals or Red over Green over Yellow might mean one block.

etc.

So they can represent more complex signals so engineers know what to expect.

I guess I did the right thing by going to msts lol atleast there is more amtrak content and routes although not all of it is prototipical atleast they are geting things done. I just installed a moffat tunnel route and I run cali zephr over it and im loving the necv4 route with the silver star activities
