Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

Major pointers

Actually right now I think Im gonna redo it or at least the lower tracks. The route you mentioned would be longer than mine and I doubt it will be done.

Sorry

Davis

Actually I'm going to have a large group of people that live along the line that have a trainz 2006 version to model a small section of the route that goes by their home for me it the silver spring and harpers ferry section.

What i want to do is have everyones modeled section marged in to one route but the modeler will have to do details only using trs06 and download station content. The rate of production all depends on how every one works as a team. From my view the project will me do within three years including details.

Luckly I didn't chose the sunset limited, the california zepher, the empire builder, the south west chief, or the lake shore limited those routes are much much longer:eek:   especially lake shore and the empire those routes split up at one point.

P.S. does anyone now how to passenger enable train cars such as a the super liners not the trs2006 builtin but the superliner final scheme.

Huston we have a problem, yesterday I rode the new haven while I took so photos and now I know that the aclea also runs on 3rd rail electricty so the probem is tranfering the mn 3rd rails from tc 1&2 to trs2009. Davis what are you going to do.

I can assure you that the Acela DOES NOT run on 3rd rail power...They may run on track that has third rail(like in New York City Penn) but they do not utilize it.

Well I did see two northeast regionals a rhino and a toaster using the metro north third electrified rails.

You have to be kidding me. They really dont. If they did why electrify the Penn Station? When you find the paddles on the Acela trucks then we'll talk.

And I highly doubt that you saw that considering that the only MN 3rd rails on the NH Line end before the Amtrak line hooks in at New Rochelle, NY. The only place you would see em next to a third rail would be in NYP and those are LIRR third rails not MN third rails.

As a guy who practically lives on Metro North, I can guarantee you that only Metro North's M2, M4, M6, and new M8s are the only trains that run on both the third rail and overhead wire.

No conductor shoes. And they're not on the other side because shoes are on both sides of the locomotive because third rails switch sides every so often to prevent overheating. The only place I know of that has both catenary and third rails is sunnyside yard, East River Tunnel and Penn Station and LIRR is the only railroad who uses them.

It's a toaster! I saw one running beside a bus that I was riding in near Pennsylvania. Does anyone know if they are still in service?

Good to hear that the toaster shall roam the "endless tracks" of the NEC. There is a toaster for Trainz right?
