NJT/Metro North Port Jervis Line (WIP)

Here are some WIP screens of the Port Jervis line. Finally imported it from trainz 2006. It is now being worked on in trainz 2009.

njtgp40andshorelinerIIIdepartingsuffern.jpg

Here is an NJT GP40FH-2 and some Metro North coaches departing Suffern on a busy morning. What a suprise, I don't think a shoreliner III has ever popped up on the West Of The Hudson Metro North Service.

conrail3.jpg

About 45 minutes later, we have another NJT GP40FH-2 pulling some NJT comet II coaches terminating at the Suffern yards.

conrail2.jpg

Conrail SD80MAC pulling up next to a Conrail hi Rail truck with it's ditchlights flashing.

conrail.jpg

Conrail Hi rail truck doing some work on the tracks. SD80MAC has some rails in the freight cars so these old rails can be replaced.

MNconsist.jpg

Shoreliner III consist traveling past the Suffern yards.

conrail4.jpg

This is the suffern yard. On the left, there is a Norfolk Southern SD70. Then there is a NJT GP40FH-2 and some MN shoreliner III coaches about to depart the Suffern yards, heading for the Suffern station. Then there is a MN FL9 pulling shoreliner I's north towards Sloatsburg.

How does everyone like it? Any suggestions? I would like to make this a great route. Everyone can tell me what should be improved or what should be added. I'm trying to make this good without going crazy on the detail so that even laptops can do a good job running this route. So far, my laptop handles well with this route.

By the way, I have no clue on how to fix this, but for some reason, there is a shoreliner I reskinned into NJT paint scheme that I downloaded and it shows up as faulty. I am using trainz 2009 WBE (sp3) build 41844

I think these are all warnings so they will not prevent the asset from working. If you want to fix it anyway, you can delete the icon0 in the config.txt. Also delete the lane ______, which is probably at the top. Some people find it easier to open in CCP and just x-out the faulty tags.

The rest, I'm guessing, are not errors but warnings. You can open each up in PEV's Images2TGA and then Save (be careful, when the File menu is open, sometimes the S key saves; other times the A key. Not really a problem if you use the mouse but if you're a keyboard junkie like me, it can be.) You can then delete the *.texture (but NOT the *.texture.txt) files.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Here's how you do it.

1. First you hold Ctrl and right click on the locomotive.

2. Then you go to view details.

3. Then you will see a small box displaying a thumbnail of the locomotive, the engineer, how much weight your towing, the priority, and class lights.

4. Click on classlights, and they should change colors.

Did it work. Stay tuned for more pics coming soon.

Thanks. There not low level platforms, I lowered them to make them look like low level platforms. You can find these at TCR by downloading the New Jersey Transit North Jersey Coast Line Part 2 route.

I'M done YIPEEE!!!! :D Here are the final pics for the Port Jervis Line WIP Beta. I will continue working on this project soon. For now, I am going back to working on the East of the Hudson Metro North service, and learning about basemaps and google earth so I can make it very accurate. Once that is done, along along with what I learned from basemaps, I'll continue work on the Port Jervis line. I am thinking about creating most of the tri state area for trainz, but that may be put on hold until I get a computer that can handle all that scenery, and detail. Well anyway, here are the final pics everyone,

Credit goes to Thalium over at the TCR forums for these wonderful Comet 5's. Credit also goes to Saxrt1 over at the SAXRT forums for all the help, advice, and suggestions as this route was in production. Thanks for all the comments everyone.

wow looking really good... i kinda have a n00b question tho.. is your route available to download yet? if so how do i download it.. cant seem to find any routes on any of the announcements on the forums... on a side note i work for njt in hoboken i can probably get you some information about our equipment or lines if you need it.

WOW

:udrool: :udrool: :mop: :mop: Your really outdid yourself, Excellent job its just so.............Perfect in ways i cant describe. btw where did you get the NJT Comet V Cab Car And Coaches? Or if its possible could you send me the .cdp files?

Thanks everyone, I can't believe I managed to get all this detail down on my laptop. About the route being available, this is still a WIP, but I finished the beta. It's not available yet, but it should be very soon. But whoever would like to test out the route, just send me a pm with your email address shown. About the comet V cab car, these are originally Landrvr1's south shore emu's. Even though his content is allowed to be distributed, I can't distribute these, because they were reskinned by Thalium into NJT paint scheme, and slightly modified by Muniman. If you would like to have these comet V cab cars, you can send Muniman or Thalium a PM over at the TCR forums.

Work will be continued on the Port Jervis line route very soon. There are 2 things that I could use though. Do you know where I can get a track map of some of the NJT lines showing all the track junctions, stations, how many cars should be in the station, mileposts, and signals. So far, someone gave me a tri state track map v2 for the Metro North Railroad EOH that includes what I am looking for, but I am not sure if there is one for Metro North/ NJT WOH service. Also, do you know if there is a track map of the LIRR and the Acela/Amtrak going for the Hellgate bridge, into the Sunnyside yard, and Penn station.

there's 3 track maps i know of which show the revenue tracks, if there powered or not and if there powered how many volts, junctions, mile posts, station lengths in terms of cars if the stations are low level or high level etc.

those 3 maps show all the revenue tracks, former connections, right of ways, and some freight lines.

i hope those maps have everything you need :)

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I am looking for. The only thing that I am looking for is how to correctly get basemaps to work. It is quite difficult getting an image that I copied from google earth into a 720x720 basemap. For some reason, when I copy my image to a 720x720 basemap, once I commit it, it is faulty. 1Km basemaps are no problem, but they do not represent the real distances, which makes my new route seem bigger than it's real life counterpart. I tried following tons of tutorials and one youtube video on getting maps into trainz, but I always get stuck. I heard about google map buddy. Would anyone know how to deal with that and trainz. I heard it's really good for getting maps into trainz. Really appreciate the maps:). Once, I figure out how to deal with basemaps, which will probably be difficult, I'll be more than glad to do most of the tri state area for trainz in one map with hundreds of baseboards.
