New USA Mountain Shortline - Large Pics (1024 x 786)

Here a freight is at Huntingdon on the mainline. Huntingdon is at MP 14.5. The Huntingdon Paper Company owns a paper mill here and is served by spur seen here in the foreground. This company receives inbound loads of woodchips from the Curry Mill of the Babcock Lumber Co and produces outbound loads of paper that leave in boxcars bound for Shawnee Team Track and Universal Sugar in Old Town.
The crew is backing in a load of woodchips for unloading at the plant.
A crew member watches the placement of the cars for unloading.
A reverse angle shot also shows boxcars on the second spur spotted for loading of paper after the evening shift arrives.

The route is looking great, but this guy should get the boot!
Great pics and story there Bill! This route just looks better and better all the time. I'll have to get back to it one of these days and post some pics. Been busy working my own route the last few months.
Maybe I'll go run some stuff there now.

Hey Bill, I've been running this route for a while and it's freaking fantastic. I just have to know though, do you have anything else in the works? I'm looking forward to and update to this route or even a more massive, self-contained route! lol. Great work on this though, it never gets old.

Thank you very much. I am glad that others are able to appreciate what I first thought was going to be a route that only I would see and run.
I have not been working on expanding this one or creating a new one. I can't seem to stop running and enjoying this one in order to get interested in another.
I look forward to seeing your pics of some of your favorite spots, industries, and operations on the route.

The Juniata Local is up the Spruce Run Secondary this morning loading out the Hunters Ridge Mine. Here the empties are pulled past the spur while the crew member opens the switch.

Up at Spruce Run, the crew uses the short siding to run around the cars in order to head back down to Old Town Jct.

Great pics of the Falcon service. I cannot wait until I get my new computer so I can run this route again.
By the way, I found out what the Falcon service was used for the other day in one of the books that I got. It turns out it was CNW's named, dedicated piggyback train service.

I have seen a whole article in TRAINS magazine in 80's about the Falcon Service.... Excellent operation.

Yeah, I cannot wait. I have so much stuff that I want to do right now, lol. I want to run your route, paint my entire fleet of Mayburry Northern locomotives, finish my Mayburry route, and a bunch of other projects.
A empty coal train is getting assembled in Allegheny Yard for a run to Mine 78 on the Coal Creek Branch.
As evening falls, the train is ready to depart. The crew tiptoes down the Back Lead toward the main line while contacting the dispatcher for a Form D Track Warrant westbound. Next stop - the Pleasantville Secondary.

The Babcock Mining Company (BMCX) Local runs the Shawnee Branch towards Allegheny. EMDX #819 (ex-PC) leased by BMCX leads BMCX #1 (ex-PC #7728). They'll drop the coal cars at the Allegheny Yard before returning along the same route back to Babcock Mining Co.
I made a few modifications to your route for my own personal use there Bill. I hope you don't mind. I thought the parallel highway and the fishing shanty added a certain something to your otherwise spectacular route!
