New Forum BUG Report thread

Just found a few: 1. Cursor disappears 2. posts cannot be formatted. Hitting enter to add a line is unpredictable (just now it tries adding spaces BEFORE the paragraph I am typing here!) if it works at all. 3. another poster (Euphod) noted the Top button doesn't seem to work. 4. forum appears to be much more sluggish than before.

The aforementioned cursor and formatting problems only seem to affect the Go Advanced posting feature, not the Quick Reply.

Well, the "top" button does seem to work here at my job, where they use I.E., perhaps it just doesn't work with Firefox. That's problematic.

"Top" button working fine with Opera also. Both in each message area and at the bottom of the page.
They've nicked the 'New Posts" button. That is a must have on a busy forum like this.

I've noticed yet another bug: sometimes when posting, I get the warning, "Press Ok to stay on this page or Cancel to leave".

TOP button doesn't work in SeaMonkey 2.6.1
Did somebody forget to feed the hamsters? Every action seems to take too long for the effect to happen. Perhaps the debug code is still active?

Slow as a wet week, and the pop-up warning about navigating away from 'quick reply' is downright silly. Of course I want to navigate away, why the heck does it think I just clicked the 'Post Quick Reply' button...

Please c heck the Forum Time

Time appears to be 5mins off to me.

Sluggish behavior may be due to there being 4.5 times as many people accessing the forum then usual.

Albums doesn't seem to do anything

Cannot change the Avatar for groups

Spacing for users location on each post needs to be adjusted (there is plenty of space, most people's location is now taking up 2 lines

Where is our Trainz Version icon?

We can access Attachments on out blogs but not on our posts; this should probably be all or none.

"Home" link really doesn't seem that useful. I say get rid of it, or make it take you to the Forum index.

Similar to Albums mentioned above. We are allowed to turn on Albums for our groups, but cannot do anything with them.

Is it possible to activate code to Group descriptions? Most g.../I] peter

Well the posting of videos works, that's nice.

I too get the "Are you sure you want to leave this page" pop up when I press the "Post Quick Reply". I do know if you do leave the page your post does get posted however.

no pop up here when I used that function.

Search seems very hit or miss. Tried to find some of my own messages but got zero finds. Can go directly via the emailed link. Unless this works very well, it will be hard to admonish people for not searching for the answers to their questions instead of asking again and again.

The search feature of vBulletin is notoriously bad; out of the box, it's nearly non-functional, and seems to get worse with every version released. I'm a member of some other sites that use it and this has long been a problem. Worse still, the admins of some of those sites say they've tried to fix it, to little avail. The only, partial work-around I've found is to go to Google, enter the full site name (e.g. forums.auran.com) and then enter your search terms. However, that's very limited in usefulness by itself.

Not too good so far...

In K-Meleon (lightweight browser) a useful trick seems to be hitting the "A/A" button. This causes the cursor to appear in the edit area (after a while). If I don't do that, editing never becomes possible; apparently you have to get its attention first with an option. And there's also the fairly pointless "Auto-save" thingy...

Preview seems to exist only in "Advanced" option.

So it seems it *is* possible to use, but has to be gamed.

Here's something I noticed: members' avatars are apparently shown on top of (and thus obscure) their usernames on blog comments.

"View Site Leaders" (in the Quick Links dropdown) returns a 500 Error: HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

However it looks as if load times have dropped back down to the pre-update speed, which is nicer then before; but still pretty slow.
