New Aircraft

WoW Ian, you are raising the bar every time I look at this post. Simply amazing stuff. Trainz/Planez/Aircraftcarriers. Trainz is becoming a totally new sim with your superb content.

Cheers

Trent.

Thanks Tanvaras, comments and ideas appreciated

Hope5, I had in mind a KC135 for later, buried somewhere down the list.

Jamie, nice cockpit, thanks.

Looks like Gordon needs an aircraft the rolls 90 degrees both ways and comes back, for pylon racing. Nice blue water in NZ.

The pylons I used were for testing, the next step is to place some invisible track and use Ians Barges, then place the towers on top that will bring it alittle closer to the final product.

That's a cockpit of an A380, if you're interested

PS Don't worry, I have permission, my dad's friend's a pilot, and he showed me it
Thanks Jamie, that was interesting. Looks like they have some great games and toys to keep them occupied for all those hours. They even have a joy stick for their games, wish I had one but not sure if it would work with Trainz though. Wonder where they hid the steering wheel, maybe it only pops up when they actual need to fly the plane :hehe::hehe::hehe:

@Gordon, nice work and I agree with the 80ft landing pad over Ian's Lift Table in these cases. If you use his heliport (whatever) though I would not use it.

So far i haven't seen anyone try and recreate a plane accident with Vulcan's models so id see what i could do ;) *note i am aware that these may be disturbing so please dont take it to heart*

I am very new to trainz and am loving it and the peaple on this forum. I also have been lurking in the background of this thread, and downloading Ians planes as he puts them up on the DLS. Ian with your talent and skills you have truely taken trainz to another level. Its all I can do to get some track laid...LOL. Anyway the reason I'm chiming in on this thread, after seeing Gordens Red Bull Air Race ( Nice job on your Airport by the way ) I thought I would try to add some affects to the Tiger Moth by biulding track in a roller coaster fashion. Very confusing to do but the outcome was really amazing. At the end of the runway I started rolling and twisting track. I think the best effect I got was running track straight up (probably 150 meters)then straight back down, when starting the upward climb I envoked a four point spin then did the same coming down. As the moth reached its highest point then droped I put it into another four point spin and it looked like it had stalled from climbing to fast.
To all of you a big thx. :)

Mike

Thanks Michael, Ian definently appreciates it, but I'm not toooo sure that I want to be loved:hehe: :o

When the planes reach a certain speed the wheels come up and when it slows down to that speed they come down. You can change some of these speed details in the Config file if you need to.

I have not set up any planes to pick up passengers using driver commands but I do not really see why you can not. Using an invisible station such as the AJS ones should work fine.

The planes work well other Driver commands, I have them moving around on runways, stopping at certain trackmarks and even being turned around by a turntable (in a hanger) using Driver Commands.

Over the past few days I set up a flight path on some merged routes that have a few valleys, with a lot of turns this way and that. I also set up cameras to watch the planes fly around and it looks great. I add a baseboard at a lower height for the planes to take off from so that by the time they reach the actual route they are at the speed I want. In this case the F111 starts out at 300km and then speeds up to 600km going this way and that through the valleys.

These routes are great to use for the effect as well as being very well textured and created. They are a set of routes by Peter Gibbons called Tumut 1, 2, and 3. For those who may wish to play with these particular routes for the planes and who have 2010, there is a problem with them (2009 works fine and I hope 2006 does too). They will crash your computer when you try to open them, though I have working copies of them. (Auran are aware of the problem and looking into it). I have been given permission by Peter to forward working copies of these routes on but they will not have my work on them. My work is on a much large series of Merged Routes (about 20 of them :hehe:) so that is hard to do. If you wish a working copy of them though, just PM me with an email address and I will forward them on.
