New Aircraft

Excellent work Craig, but you may want to hire a few more workers to get that airport ready for the rugby world cup, oops sorry that`s here in NZ :hehe:

Gordon

mind you the way things are going your airport will still be finished way ahead of time.

How's this for stupidity, they built a new railway station by the stadium in Auckland, but the idiots made the platform to short for the trains.
That's brilliant :hehe::hehe::hehe:

LOL

Rather amusing, I am sure there was a Polar bear on the nose of the plane in the first shot, but I lost site of it.

Cheers

Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've been on here, and I've seen some very good shots(including, your's, Jamie, LOL) but here's a cool new machine; developed by NASA and Lockeed-Martin(who, according to the Florida HSR list of contract bidders, also manufactures railway equipment and/or infrastructure?).

http://www.automotto.org/entry/meet-nasa-s-new-supersonic-jet-supersonic-green-machine/

... just a thought Ian ;). Just kidding, you don't have to if there's really no demand for it(Not that I expected you to).

Okay, well I'll be back soon with some more screenies to show you guys.

Still a far bit of work to go yet and then to work out some flight paths.

Looking good Craig, the turntables in the hangars really clean up the track markings, Good Work.

Gordon

Great work Bill, I can certainly use that. It looks a lot better then the Fire and Ambulance ones I am using.

Gordon, I did find an invisible turntable but it does not work very well. When it turns to the next track the whole baseboard actually shakes type thing, everything moves for a second on the screen. The movement is not smooth and needs some repairs but the creator has not been around for a long time.

The turntable I am using and whatever your using are hidden anyway so it does not matter. For Helicopters though, Ian's 2 Lift Turntables work really well.

Ive found that the ATLS system is great for control of aircraft moving around the taxi ways and it is ideal for use on aircraft landing and taking off. Setting it up you can make the aircraft wait for an incoming plane and then move onto the runway for takeoff. The ATLS system will allow only one aircraft onto the runway so avoids any crashes. All runway crossovers will be set to red when an aircraft lands or takes off and main taxi ways get priority over crossover taxi ways. Ive got most aircraft moving around automatically under this system and it works very well

Thanks guys for all the nice screenshots, encouraging.

I see Jamie has got lost in the snow. Isaac, might wait till they actually build that one, so we get the model dimensions correct.

Talking to Bill on the weekend, I mentioned the airport fire stations, I see he has made a very nice model, good one Bill.

Kieth, I hadn't really thought about Boat's ATLS system, but obviously it would be very useful and compatible. It sounds interesting.

A couple of comments:

1. I check all the models in TS2009 for errors. I noticed that only in TRS2006, some aircraft show an error "bogey not permitted in kind traincar". This will not stop the aircraft from working correctly, but it is a carry over from the way the bogeys were called up in the config for TRS2004, and changed in TRS2006.

TS2009 and 10 happily accepts the TRS2004 tags, no errors.

If anyone wants to get rid of the error in TRS2006, delete this line from the config:

bogey <kuid:-10:149>

and insert these lines instead:

bogeys {
0 {
bogey <kuid:-10:149>
reversed 0
}
}

As I said, no errors show in TS2009, and the models work fine, as is, in all versions.

2. One user is having problems with the A380 derailing on the airport runway on the on and off curves. While he has the latest model that was updated to make the curve radii larger, I suspect that the original model was placed on a baseboard, the update has been installed, but it does not replace the original model in Surveyor.

This is a "feature" with industry and buildable models, if you make changes to the product processes in the config, or add or move track attachment points in the mesh, you MUST remove the already placed model in Surveyor and put a new version down, for the changes to take effect.

Deane, legendary, great work to you and Ian (calling you that from now on Vulcan, since Isaac does) who's kuid will this be?? Mind you, I check both of your uploads in a search by author.
Hey Isaac, don't worry about that
We need a F-22, B-2, SR-71 Blackbird, and a few Russian MIgs(No typo there)
But how would Ian work out how to make the F-22 and B-2 invisible to the radar??:hehe:
More pics Soooooon (Sorry Bill)
Oh BTW I named the International Airport Vulcan Airport and the domestic Willem Airport. They sound realistic enough

Hello all,

Great screen shots folks, I am sure Ian and Bill are proud of there creations :)

Bill, I am back at work, and can get the specs you would like on our hangers we are building. Though i can not photocopy the size of the plans. Do you have Autocad? if not I can do a drawing for you with the basic sizes you would need for Gmax/blender/3ds max.

Btw, Just won a contract to build a 75 meter x 60 meter single span Hanger, with a similar door to the one in the video I posted. Its going to be one mean hanger :) Building it out in the never never for a mining company though :eek: So looking forward to being away from my wife and kids for along time (Not!) I'll see if I can get the specs on that hanger as well for you. I saw some basic plans the other day, its a beast of a hanger.

Nice to see some of your things starting to take off :P Deane look forward to that one as well. I like the Twin Otter aircraft.

Great work all,

Cheers

Trent

Twin Otter.. who's kuid will this be??

She will be under Ian's kuid 60238: and will be a trainz-build 2.6 thing.

A regional airline here called AeroPelican used to fly one of these between Sydney and Newcastle for many years. Everyone called it the "Flying Sheep" because of it's horrible lamb's wool seat covers! You felt like trailer trash just sitting in it. :)

Um, Vulcan, I know you're probably tired of requests, but how about the bitumen splines you release made into a texture??
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

The bitumen part is already a texture, I made it for inclusion in TRS2006 under my Auran username, Spock2004, when I was working on the station models for the Harlem line. At least that is where I got the base texture from, it should be close enough.

Road Bitumen,<kuid2:171456:21000:1>

I assume however that you mean a texture with white and yellow lines? It may not be that useful as it would have to be a fixed width, interesting idea though, wouldn't be hard.

Hi Craig,

I placed Ian's Lift Turntables last night and the placed the 80' heilpad over top, this covers the entire base and looks really good.

Jamie

Jamie, I think that is a typo . I believe it's actually MiG. Some people call it MIG, but I think the Russians, being Russians:hehe: decided to have MiG. Probably after the company who built it, like Ju- for Junkers, He- for Heinkel and Me- for Messerschmitt.

If I'm wrong, please clarify.
Happy Trainzing/Planezing,;)
Scott.
