Nature Screenshots! (BIG and NUMEROUS pictures!)

Spikerod,

In your first picture, the two homes on the right look great. I searched for those houses on the DSL but could not find them. Would you mind letting me know where I can find these houses? Thank you for your help. Your screenshots are truely a joy to look at.

Dan

Hi Dan,

George is correct with his assumption. Look at DLS:

Many thanks for kind words. :)

Thanks Ice..

Here's another from the same area, playing with Dinorius_Redundicus shadow splines & puddles.

Thanks again Dino - and all the excellent creators - you keep this sim alive!!

Thanks Cascade.
Nice complement, but there are plenty way ahead of me!

rbar_164 - if you're asking about the track distortion, its just a bit of overkill on track height using terrain lowering.

The rest is just trying to balance colours, depth and a using few basic visual composition rules. I don't use any image manipulation.

The main credit needs to go to the creators of all the fantastic assets, and of course Auran for such a great product.

Here's a variation on the same theme.

This is what happens when the repair crew don't fix the track.

Cheers
Casper

Did you use Invisatrck, to show the derailed tank car on an angle, partially submerged in the water, like I did in this screenshot ?

Hi Cascade

Nice trick. I remember that one from when you helped me way back with some railings I was looking for.

Yes, I use an invisible track which can't be seen in Surveyor, but it's not called Invisatrack.

It wasn’t an easy asset to find when I needed it back in March. The DLS has loads of invisible tracks, but finding the truly invisible (in Surveyor) was near impossible without downloading and testing all of them. The forum came to the rescue – as usual. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=54016

Thanks to Andy (Dermmy) I now use “Invisible track” by weevil on DLS, kuid:9000:38001

Be warned though, it can be hard to find again in Surveyor if you’ve laid too many. The swirly spline point circles show up, but you can’t see the track (obviously). I’ve only used one spline, so it was easy to find for repositioning.

Cascade, your example must have been a nightmare to sort out. How did you know what was connected to what and at which height! Did you use a “visible” track first, and then replace it?

Sorry if we’ve sidetracked Ferrous’ thread.:o

Is there an appropriate “How did you do that?” section anywhere? If not, one for the winter months maybe.

Cheers

Good morning everyone.

Rumour has it that this area, including domsarto’s excellent new cottage which is now up for sale, is destined for compulsory purchase by the UK Government (it doesn’t matter who you vote for – the Government always get in!)

The CP order will make way for the new high speed rail link.

Looks like the builders will eventually be arriving to do the survey and construction work .... if only I had more time ...
