Monorail, Maglev, and other alternate screenshots

For my next project, I need realistic advertisements, to skin onto the monorail cars, can anyone toss a few my way?
Thanks

I was planning on a few website ads as well as trainz edditions:
Trainz maggazine
trainz resource dirrectory
rrmods
jointed rail
etc.....
just need to ask their permission to use their banners, You cant Buy this kind of advertising!:hehe:

I have to say the ATLS system (for me) has been one of the most fun aspects of the game design, being able to coordinate a split five way intersection with a double track crossing dividing through it...... when you run the senario for the first time, and all the lights turn red when the train crosses the intersection, you have to believe that is a wonderfull accomplishment, always makes my day when I set the systems up.

cheers

Yeah, that's the whole idea -- having the system implement with night shots as well, would look really cool!!!

Hello all,

This isn't the best shot I've ever taken, but this is the start of (hopefully) a layout connecting a few sities and towns using the Monorail, Maglev, and traditional railways. The general idea is a layout that doesn't look so cluttered and has a nicer feel to it.

Yep guyz !!

Clutter is the enemy of frame rate!! Working on these type of layouts i try my best to have everything separate out ... more screenies coming -- Monorail City is growing, etc :hehe:

Maybe you could have a subway which is also a Railroad?

Check this one out. The beam in the background is part of a city transit system. The foreground beam is used for the monorail trains going to and from the maintenence building. Since I'm trying to make it look a little more spread out and natural looking, I decided to plant some peach trees.

Here's a different perspective. Notice the beam on the far left. There's a junction set up to expand into a double beam for opposing traffic. This allows for a more efficient flow and less congestion.

This shot is meant to show a little more detail between the station and the eye candy in the shot.

Hey J,

It's coming along just fine --- the buildings that you are using are yet to be converted into night mode, but when I cross that bridge the nightshotz will realistic, instead of having a blackout city, LOL

QUESTION

Hello Everyone,

I would like to create speed signs for the monorail system that i am creating -- I know how to set up the signs, with the speed but I need your help!

1. Has anyone come across how a speed sign for a monorail system looks like? If so, please post up a screen shot!

2. What's the max speed that a monorail car can travel?

Thanks:wave:
Ish

Ish,

I haven't seen a posted monorail speed limit sign before. A typical monorail at Disneyworld is restricted to 40 MPH on the mainlines. One of the monorail pilots told me that they can go up to 80MPH.
On the monorail system that I'm working on, I use an inivisible speed marker. In the city limits, I like to set the speed no faster than 30-40 MPH. When it's a longer distance, I'll set the speed faster (60 MPH or more).
I hope this helps.

Hi J,

thanks -- certainly do help!! Since I must search deep in my brains, LOL, I'm going to create speed signs for the monorail, specifically -- I got an idea -- it's look cool in my head so let's see if it'll look cool in trainz, :hehe:

Ish

BTW -- @all - the ATLS system is working great thus far in Monorail City -- I had to stop everything just to learn how to implemented with my eyes close!

Monorail City Speed Sign

(Not final product:hehe: ) -- A work in progress -- taken suggestions at this time, if any, etc ...

4 = 40mph

That's not a bad start. If I might make a suggestion, you should consider doing the markers in a different color. For speed signs, do them using a white background and black numbers. If you want to take it a step further, do mile marker and upcoming station signs. The station signs should be able to be renamed and do them using a green background with white numbers.

Hey J,

Doing renamble signs is not an issue, but would it be out of place, since such sings would be too long?; In other words, it will stick out too much.

The Speed sign above have been modified so it'll be close to the monorail cars!
