Monorail, Maglev, and other alternate screenshots

Very nice, Ish.

Now I have a few new ideas to work with, thanks to you. That's both good and bad because I'm putting my current project on hold. I'm going to try a different approach and see if I can make the city part look a little less cluttered.

Tall buildings mean large spaces in between, IE large streets. The key to a less cluttered cityscape is finding the right size strret with the right size sidewalk to space the buildings in a block out. unfortunately by way of sidewalk diversity, trainz is not quite the best, thicker sidewalks are more realistic in larger cities. one of my suggestions is to use either ground textures to simulate sidewalks, or place two strips of the sidewalk parallel to one-another, to increase the distance. in general, just space out you buildings, and back off of the track a little bit, that is the best way to increase realsim in the route.

cheers:wave: ,

Jay, check your in box, you will have an example shot soon

Hi Guys ..

I am huge traction fan so I have always made items to handle this issue -- I've made textures (sidewalks) -- best to use these because it will cover all spaces and it will NOT eat any frame rate ... I have made grasses and lawn foundations, as you have seen from my Monorail City layout -- they should be at the DLS next week -- Hey, NC, you're going to like these for your Disney Layout, LOL

UPDATE

BTW -- I've also made a complete set of road streets, with intersection shown in the screen shots of Monorail City!

Since the skeme is from the Disneyland Resort, I will first be doing Red, orange, blue, and purple. As of right now I am still working on blue, nextup is purple. However, If everyone here would like to give me a list of the colors that would look best in this paintjob, i will be happy to get to then within this next month:wave:

cheers,

But then you can't upload them since you would need JFE permission, right?:( !

if it take forever, and if I find the time, and if I find a tutorial I might be able to built a monorail car ... but hopefully, JFE answers his e-mail and give permission so we can all move forward!

We'll see
Ish

AND BTW -- I've upload this so it's up to Auran now (waiting game) ... !!:)

I've use these for my Tram layout and for this Monorail Layout ... more will come in the future, in variates of textures and bigger sizes!!

Oh, I have no ideas -- I'm just setting back and seeing the sunrise!!

We'll see what happens ... maybe one day Auran gets off of their high horse, and gives is a monorail car of their own, something like paintshed, where We can repaint til the end of time!! LOL

Wouldn't we all, but I'm sure Auran is already working very hard right now. If the recession has closed several major banks, a small company like Auran must be really struggling.

Just don't put too much faith in Auran ... However, don't want to get off topic on this wonderful thread!!!

So, let's just agreed to disagreed, OK ... :hehe:

That works always!!

Update

Hey Guyz ...

Adding the ATLS (Boat's system) into Monorail city ... as soon as I get it all working will post screen shots -- I've added more stuff, and creating more contents as well!!

Ishie

PS. J ... did you get it working, the paint job?

I have to say the ATLS system (for me) has been one of the most fun aspects of the game design, being able to coordinate a split five way intersection with a double track crossing dividing through it...... when you run the senario for the first time, and all the lights turn red when the train crosses the intersection, you have to believe that is a wonderfull accomplishment, always makes my day when I set the systems up.

cheers
