K&L Trainz Steam Locomotive pics!

I didn't plan to release it, but since the commissioner wanted me to, I decided to offer to anyone who followed the K&L Facebook page. Sort of a way to see who all that follows the page actually does business with me. And also offers a bit of an exclusive sale.

Kinda makes me wonder how many other locos your hiding from us!

Completely unrelated to decapods and even realistic railroading, Here's something I have been working on for a long time. I have presented my steampunk railroad project on this thread once or twice before, but here is the paint scheme prototype. Still needs some work, I was looking of a model of a 4-4-0 for this. (Can't post any pictures of the railroad, It's being redone after a computer transfer)

P.S.- Anyone know how to reskin the handrails? I'm trying to go for a gold color but can't find the exact file

It reminds of this for some reason

The only surviving Gorre and Daphetid engine

That photo reminds me of the CP El Gobernador 4-10-0. Hopefully I can post a few screenies in the next few days. And no i'm not making that engine, i'm nowhere near that level of modeling. Just getting my M&A route spruced up for its eventual release in the next few months.

one of these great Southern-looking 2-10-0 Decapod steam locos are seen backing to the coal mine to top it's tender with coal before going to back to the main and pick up a cut of hoppers and then load them up with coal.

Seems the Railfan caught one of the L&A's other versions of their Russian decapods supplying the Norwood coaling tower.

I'd like to see them do an actual Russian Decapod (one that was successfully delivered to Russia) sometime...

I do not believe any were actually shipped to Russia because of a war or something.

The Russian locomotive class Ye, and subclasses Ye[SUP]a[/SUP], Ye[SUP]k[/SUP], Ye[SUP]l[/SUP], Ye[SUP]f[/SUP], Ye[SUP]m[/SUP], Ye[SUP]mv[/SUP] and Ye[SUP]s[/SUP] (Russian: Паровоз Е; Е[SUP]а[/SUP], Е[SUP]к[/SUP], Е[SUP]л[/SUP], Е[SUP]ф[/SUP], Е[SUP]м[/SUP], Е[SUP]мв[/SUP] and Е[SUP]с[/SUP]) were a series of 2-10-0 locomotives built by American builders for the Russian railways in World War I and again in World War II. They were lightweight engines with relatively low axle loadings.
Due to the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, 200 locomotives were stranded in the United States; these were fitted with wider tires (locomotive driving wheels had iron tires which were heated to expand them, then driven over the wheels so that they shrank into place. By fitting wider tires with a deeper tread width, the effective wheel gauge could be decreased from the Russian standard of 5 ft (1,524 mm) to 4 ft 8 [SUP]1[/SUP]⁄[SUB]2[/SUB] in (1,435 mm), (the US standard) to fit the American gauge and were sent to various railroads. The locomotives were nicknamed "Russian Decapods."
A number of locomotives were acquired by the Finnish railways (class Tr2)[SUP][1][/SUP] and by the China Railway (class DK2)

In 1917, Russia again decided to order more locomotives. Baldwin was only able to supply 75 at this time. However, when the United States entered the war in 1917, they decided to aid the Allied effort by producing more 2-10-0s for Russia. About 500 locomotives were ordered. However, production was interrupted by the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, and ultimately only 50 locomotives were delivered. This left 200 locomotives stranded in the US. At this point, the United States Railroad Administration decided to convert them to standard gauge by fitting wider tires, and then distribute them among American railways. The Erie Railroad received 75, the Seaboard Air Line Railroad received 40, the St. Louis – San Francisco Railway (Frisco) received 21 (these were originally sent by the Southern Railway but were later transferred to the Frisco in 1920), and 22 other railways received lesser quantities. The un-built remainder of the order, 200 locomotives, was canceled.

60 American Decapods in China became class DK2 in 1959, and numbered 71–130. DK2-114 is preserved at Baotou West Locomotive Depot, Hohhot Railway Bureau.
Korean State Railway 8100[edit]

North Korea's American Decapods came from the Soviet Union, starting almost immediately following the end of the Second World War, and the Korean State Railway eventually numbered them in the 8100 series.

Of the 1200 built for Russia, 1000 made it, then after the revolution, the last 200 stayed here, unable to be paid for. When the USRA took over the last 200, they Americanized them and put them to work here.

As for making one, I don't really have the time, or interest in doing the Russian version. I have 19 more commissions to finish before the end of 2019.

Been making some good progress on B&M 3713:

3713 is looking good. The chimney/blastpipe arrangement interests me, and I can see here you seem to have captured the external part of it perfectly.
