Steve, 1218 looks fabulous. You think I have been happy when you made other engines, my 2 favourite US companies are the Southern and the D&RGW (I presently live in former SOU territory too) so I was mega-happy when I saw that SOU emblem.

Over the years you have helped complete the roster of my fictitious shortline, which I created when I was 8, it included a SOU Kanawha 2716, 4501, 630, 722, a Selkirk 5931, a CNR 4-6-0, CNR 4-6-4 #47, 1218, 1225 (at 9), 611, and 4960. Thank you. It sounds like in the coming year or two I can finally complete this roster that fills the line's full circle roundhouse.

If the Southern engines are 630 and 722 or 4501, I will be screaming with joy if one of the Southern steam program gals comes out (my happiest day is when I can finally book tickets to go see 630 and 4501 in usually Jan or Feb, as I do every year.) I look forward to 1218, and really forward to your SOU content, what ever it be. Ps4, Ts-1, etc. My 2 favourite US companies are the Southern and the D&RGW, so I was mega-happy when I saw that SOU emblem.

When 1218 is taken from the projects list on the website, the Southern engine will take up spot #6.

I am super excited to see what it will be. I love green and gold (pre-1984 Steam program/1990s) or Tuxedo with black and white or black and silver/aluminium.

i totally agree. Wouldn't a sou 4501 mega pack with all different versions be cool? Like the peters trainz one except not a skin of bdaneals 2-8-2.

Awesome pics removed

O M G, I cannot believe I'm seeing this. I have waited for what feels like an eternity for this, and it looks SOOOOOO close!!!

Can't wait Steve, keep up the awe inspiring work! I can only hope my 2900 is half as good as your stuff!

As delivered with acorn bell atop the boiler, box headlight, old tender, whistle on plate. Black with silver boiler.
As in freight service and similar to 1996-1998-black with bell on front, silver smokebox, and handrails. Whistle on dome.
As in early excursion service-1964-1984-dark "Chattanooga" Green with Aluminium smokebox and rods, handrails, acorn bell on front, auxiliary whistle on fireman's side dome, and screamer on engineer's, round handrails, and white walls. Old tender (smaller one, which is now partially used with 630)
Late Excursion Service-1985-1993 Lighter "Irondale" Green (as used on E8s and FP7s) with grey, turning later to black smokebox, normal screamer whistle moved to fireman's side of dome, auxiliary whistle removed. Black rods, no bell acorn. Large ex-CofG "Big Apple" tender.
2014 Railfest/Summerville-4501 in freight hog black of the 1930s with feed water heater at front, new chimney, and stoker. Black with dark grey smokebox. Round handrails. "Big Apple" Tender. Roller bearings with boxcar bogies.
2015-Present-4501 in freight black with silver smokebox (sometimes slightly soot covered on the sides), round handrails, feed water heater, stoker, plain bell without acorn, white striping, silver rods, and "Big Apple" tender with old gold "SOUTHERN" starting to show through, underneath/behind the current 4501 lettering.

Hopefully all versions would have a swinging bell, with the acorn (which I dearly love, so sad it was stolen at Birmingham). Hopefully the dark green and aluminium (my favourite version) would have dual whistles, like 2102 and 765, to include the auxiliary whistle she wore.

Sorry to monopolise your thread Steve, I love 4501 though. Even if it is not 4501, but a Ts-1, Ps-3 or Ps-4 I will still be quite happy, as I love green and gold locomotives. Hopefully a Ts-1 would include an as delivered, with box headlight version too.

I am super pumped for 1218 and eventually the AC&Y 2-8-2. The 1218 is looking great. The 734 will be amazing to finally have her (rather than a reskinned subpar 2-8-2).

I can't believe I can see a N&W A Class locomotive in Trainz!

I guess I better buy my wife some flowers when I tell her I'm buying another locomotive from K&L :hehe:.

And I need to pick a certain day when I get a paycheck to take to bank to buy this engine. :) I would recommend getting her some more expensive flowers for your wife Dave.

This is probably the very first real N&W engine we'll ever see, not to mention K&L's first articulated.
