K&L Trainz Steam Locomotive pics!

Then why do you continue to ask questions about what Steve will and won't make and whether he will do this or that or XYZ?

Give the guy some space to breathe. He as a page on his website specifically to tell you what he is making.

Sorry, I just really love his models, I don't have all of them though

And this is why the other 630/722 project was cancelled. He said SOU 630, TVRM consist, not SOU 722, not ET&WNC 207.ET&WNC 207 is a VERY different loco from Southern 630, different tender, different bell, different headlight, different front end. Many SOU locos look similar, but are not the same, for example TVRM 630 as of today has a tender built from 4501’s Old one, and her ET&WNC era one sits in McCarty Siding, or “the deadline”. Headlightnposition was changed in 1980/1981, tender is all new, different front stairs and handrails, cylinder heads, and bell. All things that don’t seem big, but require Steve taking more and more time to do. I love 630 as much as the next guy, if not more than most, ut realistically she has changed lots over the years.

I did not know how much 630 has changed over the years, though I did know that she has 4501's old tender, plus I've always wondered what the name of that siding was. Also, is it feasible that 630's old tender can be turned into another aux tender like WT54, or is it too far gone?

From what I've heard the tender is still in good condition, if a little weathered from the elements, since it sits outside. I don't think its unfeasible, just, impractical. 630s original tender is very small, after all it was designed for use with a Consolidation. Water capacity would not be too great. Also, neither 630 nor 4501 gets out on the mainline these days, both engines only operate on the TVRM, and of course water tenders are not required on a smaller line. Even if NS lets 630 or 4501 operate on their tracks, they would most likely use one of the N&W water tenders the NS keeps around for excursion service.

630 does need WT51 if the cut gets longer for the run to Summerville, otherwise water has to be taken. WT51 was originally a “consolidation water tender”, meant for 722, 630, or 750. 4501 and the larger 2839, 2716 used bigger tenders, 2839 and 2716 used the old Big Emma tender with the bunker intact, NS cut it down. WT 51 is at TVRM, WT 50 is somewhere, and WT 52 was 750’s and is at SERM. Also, 630’s old tender is a riveted tank, which is frowned upon today, and the trucks underneath would need replaced, like the current boxcar trucks (foamers would love them if they knew) with end caps on them, which is an all welded tank with decoy rivets on the side, which are now popping off. I hope this helps. But 630 did change a lot over the years, mostly on the front end, but on the tender too. 630 used WT 49 in SOU service, which following 1981 went to KRM. The WT 49-52 series were Ms-(1) tenders (like 4501) rebuilt for water carrying behind the Ks Class, so converting a Ks Class tender for a Ks Engine, wouldn’t make sense.

Nah!!! The later scheme with the red stripe and speed lettering is way more classy looking, especially when paired with tuscan red B&M cars. The bland black and white scheme looks too dull.

So there is gonna be it's own passenger set? Also I thought your voice acting in Allegheny & Western was really cool

Oh yes that looks much more classy without that ugly red striping :)

I mainly agree with Dalightrain and also agree with Steve. I like the later black version cause it makes the engine look more like its a...

How do I say this...

It just looks better cause you mainly see this with regular steamers and when you throw stuff like speed lettering and red with yellow and stuff, just makes it look like an oddball.

But I do love the speed lettering and I am wondering if this will come with a passenger set. Anyways great work as always Steve!
