Cannot edit Trainzoptions file

Hello all,

This is for anyone who is running TS2010 on Win7.

I am trying to edit the Tranzoptions file with Notepad. When I attempt to save the changes, I get a message "Access denied." I am logged in as administrator and the properties do not show the the file as read only.

What am I missing?

Bernie:

RIGHT-click on the top-level folder you have for Trainz. Select 'Properties' and go to the 'Security' tab. Make sure that ALL your users have read/write (full) access to that folder. Just because you are "administrator' doesn't actually make you an ADMINISTRATOR. There are subtle differences - and you've run across one of them.

Happy it worked. I had a similar problem on my Win7 machine. If anyone else reads this, I would suggest that you install Trainz outside the normal (default) location in Program Files as that directory is protected by W7.
