Ok my fault it seems

After trying to save my route edit to CDP, message comes up. File too large to process wording. Ok lets delete alot of old stuff I am not using. TANE and all of its content. My Trainz plus. My content all the Locos and rolling stock, needed a stocktake.
Go to load Trainz Plus, not on computer. Seems somehow maybe it was in with the TANE folder at a guess. So the last 5 yrs has vanished into the ether.
Had to re install Trainz Plus, Hoping somehow my route could be hiding in Content Manager. As I did a CDP save this morning. Sadly no where to be seen.
Never mind as they say ...t happens.
Here we go again, I can now get to grips with Surveyor 2.0

Trainz Plus installs as... TANE (reported many times in the past years), so when you uninstalled "TANE" you might have in fact uninstalled Trainz Plus.

TRS22 and Plus too appear as TANE in the Installed Apps. This is caused by copying the same script used by the package installer instead of changing the names in the appropriate fields.

The good thing is nothing is lost if you reinstall the application. All your previous settings, including your data-folder location are kept.

Yes Lucky I forgot about the import file application. Took a while and then the download after took 5 hours. So dodged a massive headache, and are back at my last CDP save before the one that failed. Because its a new install all my downloaded content has vanished I think, and my library bookmarks.

In my Installed Apps there are 9 TANEs. I always leave them alone.
I was doing a computer clean up yesterday and counted 28 TANEs. Quite a few have 15Gb associated with them and I guess that's the application itself. Because of what I do with Trainz I do need multiple installations but 28 is a bit excessive.

I'm toying with the idea of moving the known "live" installations onto a network drive plus snapshots of those remap files in the user space. Then doing a "search and destroy".

Or maybe I'll chicken out and wait until I buy another PC. ;)

Unfortunately, they'll end up being deleted. The pick-lists are easily found in Content Manager, but I don't know where the bookmarks and filters are located. I've noticed that there's a limit to the number of filters we can have and the list doesn't scroll. This has been a problem since T:ANE. I recall putting in a bug report then but they had a crash at the time with the bug reporting system and I'm afraid that one has been lost. (Reminds self to do that again...)

Was it a large route you're trying save to a CDP file?
Didn't someone write that there's an upper limit for a CDP file size?

Yes there is a limit to how big a route a CDP can store. If it doesn't fit, then in Content Manager, open that route in Explorer, ZIP that whole folder and then Revert to Original
