TRS22 unable to download anything drom DLS

I recently came back to TRS22 after a while, however, upon trying to download content from the DLS, i keep getting the following error message:

<kuid:xxxxx:xxxxx:> : Unable to download asset <kuid:xxxxx:xxxxx:>. File not available on server, or failed to download.
This error shows up for every piece of content i try to download using the content manager.
I have sent a support ticket to the N3V team, and got a reply telling me to try the following things:

- Make sure Trainz is being given permissions through security programs
- Running Trainz as administrator
- Forcing a reset in trainz (sign out of my account in the MyTrainz tab in settings, closing Trainz entirely, re-open trainz en log back in in the MyTrainz settings)

Having tried these things, i still keep getting the same error message as before when trying to download any piece of content using the content manager.

I've also tried updating trainz (am now on build 129335) this has had no effect unfortunately.

Has anyone here perhaps had the same issue and can help me fix it?

Regards from the Netherlands,

Mathijs

What did you try to resolve this possible issue?

The most common problems caused by security programs are:-
  • your antivirus program either blocking the downloads or attempting to scan the application (Trainz) or its downloaded files during the download. Solution: Add trs22.exe to your antivirus realtime scan exclusion list (how you do this will vary between AV programs)
  • your VPN (if you have one) blocking the transfer. Some VPNs will block DLS downloads, others do not. Solution: try disabling your VPN to see if that makes a difference. If it does then change your VPN.
  • your firewall possibly blocking the port used by the DLS. I have never had this issue (but have had both of the above issues) so I cannot offer a solution.

I made sure in windows defender that TRS22.exe is set as an exclusion (in windows defender, i created an exception for the file H:\Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022\TRS22.exe, as far as i could find this should make an exclusion to any scan for the selected .exe file and any files that are opened by it)

I don't have any VPN so that can't cause any issues.

As for the Firewall, i went to the Windows defender firewall, and added a rule to except TRS22.exe in the firewall for both incoming and outgoing traffic. (hope i used the correct terms, since my windows is in dutch instead of english)

This is a start. You should also exclude your TRS22 data folder. This is the folder where all your downloads, DLC, your routes you create, and DLS reside.

The reason is Trainz content is compressed in these folders and antivirus programs including MS Defender have a field day scanning each and every asset as it's loaded. This constant scanning and check will impact performance and can also end up corrupting data when it's installed.

Are you using T Mobile (or its equivalent if it is available in the Netherlands) as your ISP? T Mobile is notorious in the USA for blocking DLS downloads and the only solution is to change the ISP.
