Blue Passenger Pack

I wasn't thinking of you Mike! I was responding to a particular post (that I must say rather triggered me) on another thread* that was along the lines of, 'well if you can't afford Gold, go and make your own models...." I know that's not your view, but you do hear it on here from some people (and even worse on the Discord). Ironically, I probably will go back on Gold next week (as my Plus subscription is almost up), but we could do without the divisive attitudes.

Sorry Paul, bad day at black rock buddy. I agree with a lot of what is said about subscriptions and payware behind walls permanently. Trust me if i didn't have to pay i wouldn't.
Trouble is every time i let my Gold sub lapse. I see a dlc i would love to use and out comes the cancel the cancellation finger :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .
I have to say that after re-starting Gold again at the beginning of September to try this pack. I was disgusted to find the Class 40 uses a Class 37 cab interior, that is not value for money in my opinion.
Plus only one version of the Class 47 with that high intensity headlight. Which restricts its use to post 1980.

Mike.

I take your point Mike. If they're insisting on a £100 a year subscription to be able to play this game fully, then that raises the bar on the DLC they're providing. Two versions of the class 47 in three years isn't good enough. There still isn't an option there for 60s and 70s modellers (like myself) to use this model. The class 40 should ideally have a class 40 cab. N3V's updated class 37 cab is actually pretty good, but it's a modern cab that is inappropriate for the class 40. We accepted this kind of compromise in the past because stuff was on the Download Station or, at a push, it was purchasable DLC, but if we're subscribing to 'Gold' we have a right to expect higher standards. Then if you look at the class 9F freight locos, it's two completely niche models that are totally useless for the 50s or 60s modeller. If the class 47 is any guide, we might get a 'standard' 9F in three years time!

I'm on the verge of resubscribing to Gold. But what will I get for my £100? Some maroon Mk1 coaches. A class 08 shunter. A class 40. Some locos I can't use. It's not a hugely attractive prospect!

The quality issue is common across numerous items of DLC. Take the Class 70 for example. No tail lights. Wipers don't work, fairly awful engine sounds. The Class 68 also has engine sound issues. These are the sort of things that should be ironed out at beta stage and if anything does slip through, it should be updated as a matter of course as soon as is reasonably possible. The errors with the BR blue Mk1s took ages to be rectified, the two glaring ones being bogies with static wheels and the blue being very wrong. I have no issue paying for stuff but get it right.

Plus subscribers are given the chance to beta test the DLC. I have mentioned things in the past only to have the issues fall on deaf ears. The attitude from the top is everything is a big rush as we see with a lot of things.

This is the beef I have with some of the DLC routes. One route in particular has floating roads and track as if the author didn't bother to snap them to the terrain.
Various routes ported(?) over to plus were not checked out. When I think of the many hours teams of hobbyists/enthusiastic persons involved in such routes as: Settle/Carlisle, Potteries Loop to mention just two UK ones. Have not tried another "freebie" ECML.
Sorry bit bad tempered, haven't had me lunch + red today:eek:

No worries. I haven't had my coffee yet. :)

I agree.

The problem is we need to take our time and check things instead of pushing to get everything out in a rush all the time.

Highly unattractive Paul, Trainz uninstalled yet again. Hence my late reply sorry.

Mike.

I knew it was 2520 thank you HPL but i did not use that as a search option. Will go and try now, thanks very much.

EDIT: Still nothing, but thank you anyway buddy. (y)

Hi All
For the BR Blue Pack (and all Trainz Plus exclusive packs), they should be shown under their name when using a Trainz Plus Gold MyTrainz subscription. For the Steam subscription, unfortunately at the moment it will be shown under the pack's ID number (simc:2520 for the BR Blue pack), due to some limitations in Steam's handling of DLC (we are looking at improving this, if Steam actually allows for it).

In regards to the cab view; during research, in conjunction with several very talented UK content creators, we ended up with somewhat misleading information on the cab view that lead me to believe the class 37 cab would be suitable. Late into development new information was provided (by same and other UK creators :) ), that highlighted the differences to me. From this we have already been doing further research into this to produce an accurate cab view for the Class 40 for future, and we intend to update the BR Blue Pack to include this. But it was decided to release the pack with the 37 cab on the Class 40, so that we could get an otherwise finished pack out to everyone.

For the MK1 coach interiors, during development of the 9F and BR Blue Packs, the exteriors of the coaches were rebuilt to correct the shape of the coach bodies (including the windows), however rebuilding the interior views wasn't possible for this pack. We may look at this for future updates/releases, however unfortunately it is not a small task. To be honest the passenger views are a less used aspect of these types of the packs compared to the exterior views and loco cabs, and hence the priority was the exterior models and loco cabs (despite the above with the class 40!). This isn't saying they won't be updated, but just that we are still looking into the feasibility of this, compared to expanding the range of content we can provide.

Which leads us to the locos themselves (and the MK1s :) ), and more so variants of these... We definitely want to produce more of these, and we have received a lot of feedback (including on the forums) about versions people would like to see! I can say that there's a lot in development that I can't quite show yet, but will hopefully be revealed very soon... In the mean time, next will be a swing back in time with some more steam, and for this I've been given the ok to post a bit of a teaser since some of it has already been revealed on the roadmap :)

I know it's a touch earlier than the BR Blue era of this thread, but this is just one of many items in development at the moment :) But for this one, which has a few more items not shown here, it is currently in it's first round of testing with a few members of the community who have assisted a lot for the last couple of UK DLC packs. We hope for it to appear on the TCCP website for a wider beta test in the coming weeks if all goes well :)

As a reminder, beta tests on the TCCP website don't require Trainz Plus or Trainz Plus Gold to access; they are accessible to anyone in the community who wishes to participate. All new DLCs will go through at least one round of beta testing on there; sometimes more, and it's a good time to give feedback on DLC packs. Generally showstoppers will be the focus at this stage (ie issues that prevent the content from working correctly); but even so any issues should be reported so that they can be looked into, and this will allow the creator (either us, or 3rd party) to look into it for future updates to the pack.

I get neither Zec, when looking down the list manually. Or when attempting to use the search function, under store or purchased tabs.

Mike.

I am wondering if it is because i am running the TLR beta. Grasping at straws though.
Hi Mike
That's quite possible, 'live' DLCs may not appear in beta versions until later in development (each major update of Trainz is handled separately). I will pass it to the content team to take a look tomorrow though, to see if they can make it available to the beta version.
