Blue Passenger Pack

I wasn't thinking of you Mike! I was responding to a particular post (that I must say rather triggered me) on another thread* that was along the lines of, 'well if you can't afford Gold, go and make your own models...." I know that's not your view, but you do hear it on here from some people (and even worse on the Discord). Ironically, I probably will go back on Gold next week (as my Plus subscription is almost up), but we could do without the divisive attitudes.

Sorry Paul, bad day at black rock buddy. I agree with a lot of what is said about subscriptions and payware behind walls permanently. Trust me if i didn't have to pay i wouldn't.
Trouble is every time i let my Gold sub lapse. I see a dlc i would love to use and out comes the cancel the cancellation finger :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .
I have to say that after re-starting Gold again at the beginning of September to try this pack. I was disgusted to find the Class 40 uses a Class 37 cab interior, that is not value for money in my opinion.
Plus only one version of the Class 47 with that high intensity headlight. Which restricts its use to post 1980.

Mike.

I take your point Mike. If they're insisting on a £100 a year subscription to be able to play this game fully, then that raises the bar on the DLC they're providing. Two versions of the class 47 in three years isn't good enough. There still isn't an option there for 60s and 70s modellers (like myself) to use this model. The class 40 should ideally have a class 40 cab. N3V's updated class 37 cab is actually pretty good, but it's a modern cab that is inappropriate for the class 40. We accepted this kind of compromise in the past because stuff was on the Download Station or, at a push, it was purchasable DLC, but if we're subscribing to 'Gold' we have a right to expect higher standards. Then if you look at the class 9F freight locos, it's two completely niche models that are totally useless for the 50s or 60s modeller. If the class 47 is any guide, we might get a 'standard' 9F in three years time!

I'm on the verge of resubscribing to Gold. But what will I get for my £100? Some maroon Mk1 coaches. A class 08 shunter. A class 40. Some locos I can't use. It's not a hugely attractive prospect!

This is the beef I have with some of the DLC routes. One route in particular has floating roads and track as if the author didn't bother to snap them to the terrain.

The quality issue is common across numerous items of DLC. Take the Class 70 for example. No tail lights. Wipers don't work, fairly awful engine sounds. The Class 68 also has engine sound issues. These are the sort of things that should be ironed out at beta stage and if anything does slip through, it should be updated as a matter of course as soon as is reasonably possible. The errors with the BR blue Mk1s took ages to be rectified, the two glaring ones being bogies with static wheels and the blue being very wrong. I have no issue paying for stuff but get it right.

Plus subscribers are given the chance to beta test the DLC. I have mentioned things in the past only to have the issues fall on deaf ears. The attitude from the top is everything is a big rush as we see with a lot of things.
