I purchased Trainz 2009 about a month or so. Much to my surprise, a number of scenarios are in German. My high school German is very rusty to say the least. I can translate some of the more pointed instructions, but when it comes to the technical aspect, "Das kann ich nicht ubersetzen" So what's to do? Paid good hard cash for the game which for me is a little more than understandable. No problem with the Germans and I realize that the actual scenarios were developed by German techs. How do I get translations into English without paying to have it done? Otherwise the game is mostly useless to me and a waste of money!!!!! Antworte, bitte!

Check the Download Station (DLS). I think it has been mentioned that many of the scenarios are available there in English.
Perhaps not a solution but has anyone tried to run the scenario files through an online translator? Might not be perfect but you should get the drift.
Being an international product with content input from many language groups, I suppose it is inevitable that translations will be needed but at what point? Should every creator be responsible to provide translations into all Trainz languages? I doubt that there would be any uploads any more if that was the case. Should Auran translate everything? If you thought that uploading was a slow process now, it would grind to a virtual halt if we had to wait for Auran to do that too. Not to impute their competence, just that the volume would be overwhelming. So we're left with a do it yourself process. Not pretty but does anyone have a better idea?

Well, that remains to be seen, doesn't it? Many use Trainz for the ability to create their own worlds in Surveyor. It doesn't seem to me to be one of those games you buy to play through and then that's it!
