Hey guys.

Scottling and Forest_Runner, nice shots. I like the tribute to Davido, Scottling.

NSW_Maddog, my apologies to you. I assumed the shed in the picture was the maintenence shed, hence asssuming the 81 was being pulled. Nice shot, anyway.

My exams started on Monday with French and English. English was the first and scariest, in our HUGE hall where yr 12's do their VCE. Today we did Math and Science and there was a question 'Can you list 2 controlled variables in this experiment?' And I wrote a really big NO because my teacher didn't teach us what the heck variables were
Jamie
PS Kids always blame the teachers don't they:o

Hmmmm.... Read the question! Read the question! Read the question!
That is what I was and still are told about exams.

Many students would answer the above question with the variables listed, which, if you "Read the question" would be incorrect. I would have just answered "yes" to the question, and moved on. I would then take the teacher to task over the fact it was (inevitably) marked as incorrect and ask, where does it ask me to list the variables? The question asks 'can you?" Well, yes I can, or, no I can't. Either response in my opinion would be correct. The question deserves a binary response, either yes or no. Nothing else is required.

It's obvious your maths and science teachers did not excel in English. If the examiners goal was to elicit understanding of the concepts then they are required to ask specific questions that achieve this. Their role is not to assume the student can elicit from the question, that which is required by the examiner.

You know what you've done now people?:hehe:

You have inspired me to build a new NSW route based on the Sydney-ish sort of area. Any excuse to try Davido's locos!;)

And on that bombshell, Happy Trainzing!

Opened my CityRail route for the first time in 4 months and I can barely even move around the map without any lag at all. Never thought that my computer could deteriorate that rapidly.

Horrible. :'(
