Any help on SP1 problems?

enginewhistle

On Hiatus
It seems like ever since i've installed SP1 into TS12, Content Manager and the game have been running slower, taking at least 10 or 15 minutes to open a tab in Content Manager along with looking at lists in surveyor. What am I able to do here?? I did an extended asset database repair yesterday and now i'm running another one:'(

Have you opened Content Manager since running the repair?

Does it show any errors?

These errors need to be validated and repaired because any broken assets can cause poor performance.

Sorry for not seeing your thread sooner. I was busy fixing content! :D

Morning,

read my threads and hope you have not installed SP1 on your main disc but a dummy..... go back to your old version and do not dig any further this is the worst marketing effort I have seen from any company in my 64 years living on this earth, I know i not make friends over there but i choose this time.
Yes my OGL is 10fps slower and first thought Dx was same or faster but not true slower too and pop pop pop and graphics deteriorate see picts in my thread. Yes windwalkr's marketing lawyer talk is not gonna safe the company I am afraid and this is just the beginning.
Sad really sad i was so hopeful this time a patch that finally would solve years old bugs reported frequently but denied and firing back to my post "can you elaborate more what you mean" man this is almost sickening.

Roy

diggin into my Train sim and MSTS vault where to pick up and jump ship if this continues.
Yes very sad but above all very angry, no not dissappointed it slowly fits the profile of a self fulfilling prophecy.
Yes they can ban me whatever it only makes my decision making faster and cleaner.

Hi Roy,

Too late for me. LOL. Went and did it two days ago and I'm still digging at the assets. I have another 100 or so to fix and about 20 I can't because they're Jointed Rail stuff.

Your tree issue has been reported. Tony Hilliam has mentioned somewhere that they are aware of the problem and I will assume that they're looking into the issue.

Your route picture reminded me of what Glacier National Park looks like now after the bark beetles infected all the spruce trees.

morning John and all other real trainzer friends!

i am mostly saddened for what happened now this is like jumping the cliff without a parachute.
Things go wrong for many reasons yes,
I always give people first e few times the benefit of the doubt.
I did install it safely on an old disc 2nd dummy backup version so my main disc and other backup is not damaged or infected.
I did repair like you a few objects to yellow or better level just to see what would happen to the route.... and darn they killed more than the goose with the golden eggs.
The worst part is my years long expectation and only "reliable contact down under JM" stating wait for the next patch it will solve most of my bugs reported and not only my bugs many trainzer reported and talked about many many times, was confirmed not existing wrong ....what bugs can you elaborate?

This closes the door for me finally as this company will fail to make it on the longer term......
It is for sure they ignore completely that they exist by the grace of ALL i repeat all 3rd party developers incl trainzer users not by them with a stone age Jet engine.

What a horrible 2 days trainz wise yes it affects my real life since I spent 10s of thousands of hours years to make a real professional product and end up with a b....h of ....
amazing but the real world is ful of it more and more get exposed to those who are willing to see it and not feed their ignorant dreamworld.

have a nice weekend John and safe your time in repairing go back to the old version and stick to it like TRS 2006.

Roy :(

ps try this one if you have forests of speedtrees run a route windowed hit ctrl alt del open task mng and see your forest burned down to the ground gone...already someone reportesd this with he working or opening fraps so it tells a story, well tested in house even with beta testers....
bet if you run a route full screen and do same it would crash.

Roy I have two of your routes that I love, so I am staying away from this alpha software, and keeping things as they are with 49922. From what I have read on these forums and one other, this SP1 is a gigantic train wreck, and I don't want to be part of it.

If all else fails after doing the extended asset database repair, do I make a back-up of my local folder and reinstall the game completely?

QDR EDR is to no vail. i did all kind of regular tricks CMP is leaking too and not a little its almost liking a russian nuke sub smoking.

If you installed on your original your local might already be infected not sure make a copy and reinstall 49920 version of course. Compare later assets in your untouched local (backup ) and the one involved in the 57720 experience.

good luck

Roy

Thank God I'm neither a lawyer nor a marketing guru then ;-)

Honestly, if the best you can say when asked for details on your problems is "well, that response sickens me" then I don't see why you're surprised that your issues aren't fixed. Not saying that you haven't given constructive information in other threads, but that's certainly not how your post here comes across.

go back to the old version and stick to it like TRS 2006.

You know, when TRS2006 came out, a lot of people on the forums said the same thing about going back to TRS2004.

Seriously though, I'm sorry you've had a bad first experience with the patch. We'd love to know what problems you're having, so that we can make sure that they're fixed quickly (if a bug on our part) or that you're provided with the information your need to resolve them (if they're something on your end.) But a post like this which contains no real information and a lot of negativity isn't helping anybody.

kind regards,

chris

Heh - no-one liked TRS2006 until TS2009 came out; then it (TRS2006) was the best thing since sliced bread, if you believed all the forum posts.....

Oh I remember those days. How about the service packs for TRS2004 and then SP4. People hated them and now that was the best version ever.

Nothing has changed other than date. These situations will always be there.

I just got done updating and went for a poke in Surveyor. The Speed Trees disappear which is not a good thing, but I read somewhere that's a known issue to be resolved. Not a big one for me right nowbecause I'm laying track now on DEM files. On the good side, the menus are faster loading. Still poking around and figuring out stuff.

There are still quite a few missing dependencies, but that's due to JR stuff I have which depend upon the railcars and locos in some consists I made.
