What is Trainz Simulator 12 ?

Hmm, especially for robd, 'NDA' probably means Non Disclosure Agreement. :hehe:

But, my oh my, what a lot of commotion about something that's only an announcement for a Collectors Item. Ok, it's pricy, I think that too, but nobody is holding a gun to your head to purchase it.
With a bunch of these friendly anniversary guests to the pre party who needs any enemies. :D

Greetings from nighttime Amsterdam,

Jan

Yes, I know what NDA means but the person concerned bandies the term about like it's going out of fashion and that he has privileged insider info. If he has then he should stay quiet about it and not mention the fact at every opportunity.

Maybe the really true really collectible version of Trainz would be a mint copy of Trainz Community Edition. Even then, as much as I collect, I do not want one. :o :p :hehe: ;)

Regards.

I have an old Amstrad 128 computer (I think that is the model) up in the loft would that be worth anything, or would it run Trainz 2010.

Now there's a thought

Bill

Is it one of these?: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amstrad_CPC

I am unsure of its worth, :o but someone on eBay would probably want it. :p ;)

I am actually looking at how small that thing looks; interesting how it seems that the computer is built in to the keyboard.

Regards.

Alright, they've officially announced two new versions of the program in the last few weeks. TS12 and the Mac version.

The news is out, the jig is up, why play the super secret squirrel game? What are the specs for the two new releases? I don't think it's to much to ask for from customers following official announcements. Or, will the requirements be blanked out until you stick the disc in the drive.

As far as a collectors edition, cool, if that's your thing. If you're a collector, owning it makes you feel special or just want to be the first, I say go for it. If you think paying that much is dumb, well, that's alright too and don't buy it. Whatever floats your boat or makes you feel good and all warm and fuzzy inside.

Personally, I could care less about TS12 and more interested in the Mac version. I understand NDAs and all, but, the products have been officially announced. Why all the cloak and dagger? Release the specs already. I'm juggling a new computer, first in five years, or a set of Octava microphones and Lastolite backgrounds. Either would do me well for what I'm trying to get going in my situation.

Why so secret since the programs have been announced? I'm sure I set off at least one person with this post and don't care. It would be nice to know what the specs are for product announcements whether you are jumping on the pre-order or not. Not like we will run out and buy RW if you tell us too soon or giving away the codes to the secret football.

Dave.......

To answer the question of the thread

Train 12 is a pathetic attempt by NV to get your money for substandard quality work...except for the few jewels that will show themselves eventually.

Whatever Trainz 12 may or may not be it now seems to be N3V's policy to release a new version of Trains every year. They state in their blurb "You guys asked for it", I sure didn't ask for a new Trainz every year. Some of these features like the new trees could have been added to TS2010 as an update. I guess its fashionable to bag RS on this forum, but when Rail Works was released RS owners were given the opportunity to upgrade to RW at a cheaper price, neither Auran or N3V has ever offered that sort of deal to their customers however loyal. Guess the above options would cut into N3V's bottom line too much for them to contemplate that. I and many others have been good customers to Auran for quite a few years, but I feel that N3V's pushing of payware loco packs, which could have been included in the game and releasing Trainz annually smacks of sheer greed.

Well let's add 2+2+2 shall we...

He is part of JointedRail, JointedRail is producing the Mojave Sub, The Mojave Sub is a built in route in this collectors release...

Yup adds up to 6 and he "probably" has info that he can't share due to the NDA, other than to say people ARE jumping to conclusions...

Either way he more then likely knows more about it than we do and the bottom line is I at least will look at it not as some vast collectors edition but as a raffle ticket, a chance to win 5 years worth of new product and unless this collectors box is the last getting one would be a plus.

Some have said "that's an expensive raffle ticket" well those who think that haven't been with me during a weekend in Vegas because I have been known to toss out 150.00 on the come and not bat an eye...:hehe:

It's like Einstein said "it's all relative" or was that Darwin that said that...

Beta tested it and are speaking from a perspective of firsthand experience are we?

Thought not :hehe:

Apart from the exceedingly rare stuff, the 8-bit computers are generally worth anywhere from £20-60 on ebay. It needs to be something special like a Enterprise 128 before it's worth any serious amount.

I am actually looking at how small that thing looks; interesting how it seems that the computer is built in to the keyboard.

Pretty much all the 8-bits and most of the 16-bits were like that, on both sides of the pond.

There were even a few PC compatibles in keyboard-like form factor, such as the Sinclair PC200:

or the Schneider EuroPC 2:

With all of the complaining about TS12 and the putting-down of N3V in this thread, I woinder what kind of stuff people were spitting out when TS2010 was announced and available for pre-order. And by now, TS2010 does not look so bad, does it? :D ;)

Regards.

Most of em are STILL complaining about 2010 :hehe:

And the BEST line in the debate so far was "if you have to ask the specs, you ain't got em"...:hehe:

That's really the harsh reality in all this...

Good Evening,

I haven't a clue who you are other than that you keep saying you're 'bound by NDA' whatever that may mean.

Are you a 'wind up' merchant or do you really know what the score is?

well, i am sorry i said that too many times, i just wanted to make it clear that unlike some of the other posts here, i actually DO know what i am talking about.

i am a beta tester of TS12, a developer for TS12, and a wind up merchant for TS12. :hehe:

I see a flood of PM's and Email in your future.

Be very careful if you get one from Julian Assange.... it will be on WikiLeaks.:)

Good luck from a former beta tester for 2006. TC's and 2009.

Ron

I think he's just letting robd get under his skin just a little. He really doesn't have to, arguing with robd is just going to lead to robd claiming that he has insulted him or his country when merely stating absolute fact:hehe:

When I merely made mention that things in England are far more socialized than they are here in the US, he did accuse me of insulting both him and his country when all I was doing was doing was stating an absolute fact...
