US hotels/motels

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to do some US hotels for 2004 like Hampton Inn, Fairfield by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Best Western, etc. Here is an example. Link to hotel renderings at bottom

Hi RWK,

These would be neat to see. The closest things I can think of that resemble these are the ocean motel/hotel? objects made by dmdrake. These might be too big for what you are looking for, but they are kitbashable in a way.

I think there's a Comfort Inn (or one of the Choice chains) on DLS. Having a Motel 6 and a Super 8 would be nice.

I looked for Comfort Inn and came up empty. Most of the hotels on DLS are either too big, too small, foreign, not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the types shown here, moderate chains that you would find usually off an interstate exit. There are nicely modeled fast food restaurants, though, McD's, Wendy's, Arby's. I can always improvise and put houses together to form a building that looks like a Fairfield, or Courtyard, or Country Inn, etc.

oh yeah you forgot the super 8,best western and holiday inn which would be nice but still the creators still have their hands tied up in content at the moment so all we can do is wait for now.

Or learn to make content yourself. All of those chain's pretty much look like "little boxes, on the hillside, and they're all mad out of...."

I don't mind trying to make a few when I get time, but it may be awhile before I can get around to it. Maybe someone else will beat me to it and help you out.

Can someone model these. . .

What I would like to see would be older motels such as a late '70s Holiday Inn (with the old neon sign), and other hotels, restaurants and service stations of that era for TRS 2006 and TRS 2004. There isn't too many of these

I just found what I'm looking for but they're Sketchup models and there doesn't even seem to be a download link. Here http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=6b1d5a23c3df17efc535371eabd500a8&prevstart=0
Is there any way to import these models into Trainz 2004? There's like several hundred different hotel/motel models.

You can import them into sketchup (free version) and then export using this method into Blender:

http://www.blendernation.com/from-sketchup-to-blender/

You would likely have to strip all the textures off before it could be used in Blender then reapply them using the proper format. I think this method actually separates the textures from the model anyway but I'm not sure.

That would be greatly, greatly appreciated. While I see some nice, modern U.S. content, or stuff that could pass for it, hotels are sorely needed.

BTW, I've recently begun to learn Blender. However, I have a lot of things on the to-do list, particularly for my SEPTA route, and am certain I won't beat you to it or even come close. :)
