Nice PortlineParker you got the signs done or did you get them all now for that area, the ones for showing the start as you head to the BR Network and the end as you leave for communications I seen in the Swanage Video

Hi,

I reskinned them (both new signs are originally by Marky7890) and asked for permission to upload which he kindly provided.

They're now on the DLS and look pretty good on the route.

Cheers,

PLP

Thanks to a very generous offer from clam1952, Swanage has received a new (functioning!) 50ft turntable:

The M7 fits on, as should the standard 4 tank but anything larger than these needs to be split into two (such as the T9, BoB, WC etc.) before turning.

Thanks clam, it's a gem!

PLP

Very nice!

Apologies for a potentially stupid question but as someone who is unfamiliar with such things, is that something that happens often in real life on Swanage or is it limited to times when it is needed for whatever reason?

Not at all,

It doesn't happen on a regular basis, but only on occasion when the locos need to be turned. I only learnt this recently, but with the way the water tower is at Swanage and the 5 coach trains they run, tender locos usually run facing Norden and tanks facing Swanage as it is easier to fill up.

With a 4 coach rake or less direction doesn't matter but as majority of their trains are 5 coaches long, the train overhangs the platform meaning it is awkward to fill up.

Not something that will be used on the route on a regular basis, but it adds another interesting touch to the route.

Cheers,

PLP

Seeing that strong country sign in your shot has inspired me to go back and revise it. The original was one of my earliest assets and was made with the dreaded Sketchup. The new version just uploaded has a slightly reduced poly count and revised materials with a normal map to make it look much better in TS19. It now looks better, performs better and has a smaller download size!

That's remarkable Parker! I do hope Clam desides to upload it to the DLS. It would fit perfectly at Norwood Junction as my current turnable is a bit too big to fit! :hehe:

Wow PLP that turntable is just the thing for minor lines and branchlines. Hopefully Malc will upload it to the DLS so it can be more widely enjoyed.

So clean black is the new black then Graham. Just because most steam engines were grimy during the late steam era doesn't mean that they all were like that all of the time. It would be very nice to have a choice.

Thanks very much Ken. My mid-19th century locomotives and rolling stock are a lot of fun and I very much enjoy giving them a run.

Good shots Annie, those look like my locos and coaches !! Thanks for dusting them off

Your mid-19th century engines and rolling stock are still very much favourites of mine Paul and they see a lot of use. They needed very little doing to them to make them TRS22 compatible as well.

Lovely shots Annie, very realistic.

Thanks Graham, - my old SP1 'Cairnrigg to Balessie' route is my present test route for TRS22 and so far it's working out well.

Excellent screenshots Annie! :) I'm loving the locos you've been showcasing lately! Looking really good!

Did a bit of test running with the South London area and got some good progress shots of 75C Norwood Junction. Loving how Camscott's locos look sitting in the sheds! :D
