Thanks Bob but I think I mentioned before that I only show the "good" bits! Heres a Durham DMU pulling into Fencehouses station; try as I might I cannot find any building which resembles the station or indeed the signalbox :'(

Hi Lewisner, that is going to be some project, the Sunderland area alone will be a challenge given all the industries that once existed there. I am delighted that you are going to release your wonderful masterpiece - it will be a much valued addition to the ECML route.
On the matter of Leamside Station, heres some pointers:-
Hipped roof/canopy = Building semi hipped roof, (pyramided up), used on my North rd sta
Truro platform buildings = Leamside platform buildings, used these for Ferryhill.
Building Markinch station P2 shelter = Rooftop tank / cladding
r4p doors
G fence met blue/grey (spline)
Signal gantry york column
beam-H up = Decorative ironwork on tank end.
Regards

You sir are an evil genius! Possibly because I had a couple of pints of Aspalls cider I didn't realise what you meant by "pyramiding" but it finally sank in. The Leamside roof was huge and required a 2 x 4 base rectangle of roofs but it eventually got done and here is a class 31 passing while a G5 waits for the non-existent passengers in the north bay platform. I have bunged a couple of ordinary water tanks on the roof and will probably find a building to reskin - long term I will have to try and create a custom roof and building.

A2 class 60534 "Irish Elegance" runs into Leamside station from the north. One of the problems I have found here is that there was a coal mine (Adventure Pit) just north of the station but despite it only having closed in 1978 nobody has a photo of it, and indeed I can't remember it.

Hi Lewisner, good to see the Sunderland route progressing well - great screenies.

Could not resist taking a look at the Fencehouses page on the disused stations site; hope you have had some success in finding some DLS bits, but if not heres some more pointers:-

Station

The nearest components I could find are Mason Taylors wonderful Scottish creations:-
SMS S2 MU SP1 Spacer, SBS SUSF 4D1, SMS M2 MUD Main Unit Double, SMS S2 BW2FD Bay Window, SBS TDC 4FWoe Closie, SCSK PITT2 EEW MS, MFK2 LBAS, MTK2 GS1 BYW.

(See screeny, it all goes together nicely).

Also BNCR Signal Cabin 5 - roof looks OK for parcels shed, Gare, CFE batiment central - put this over the main building to give the roof overhang.

Signalbox

VR Type `G` Generic Signalbox, Truro Shelter, R4p std all white door, Industriezaun Pfosten, Glazen geluidswal spline, MV Brick Bridge spline- half arch will suffice as support bracket - I have not looked at every available bridge so there may be similar that will be more realistic. DONJ small wooden outhouse, Industial Staircase 03, Build-A-Facility Single Door.

Can`t help with any stuff regarding Adventure colliery, I`m looking for info on Chester Moor colliery but to no avail, looks like its going to be guesswork taken from OS maps.

Thanks for the tips Bogieman! I had Fencehouses more or less done but the bay windows were a big help. The problem with the Up side platform shelter is that I am trying to use prototypical width platforms so I am extremely pushed for space. Here's a Class 37 trundling through the acres of track at Penshaw past one of my signalling "bodge jobs"! :o

For collieries in the North East, have you chaps tried the Durham mining museum site ? They do have one photo for each of the pits you just mentioned, these are marked "Sample" so they may have more.

http://www.dmm.org.uk/gallery/a002-000.htm

I am aware of a book of maps, hand drawn and very detailed, of all the colliery lines in the NE but don't know it's geographical scope. I do know that it's expensive (> £100), each copy has to be hand printed on request, so you have to be seriously interested and fairly well off to fork out a copy. If you should want more detail then PM me - I don't want to clog up a screenshots thread with this.
