Two Upcoming South Florida Routes

Surveyor Shots II

Here are some shots from Surveyor or Driver that do not depict a train but do represent an area just newly modeled or one that is to shine very soon.

As some of you know, I have completed a goal to model all the industries except for the Downtown Lead in Miami east of Hialeah Yard. These will not load but are great fun to switch:)

East of Iris (apology for the big shot)

The Tank Car Facility (Larger shot) is still a work, but soon it will look very busy ;)

Nice work brickbuilder, the Medley Lead was instantly recognizable !
Also would you happen to have some pictures of the new track work/signals on the Lehigh Spur ? It would be very useful as i would like to incorporate that into the layout.

I do not have real pictures, because it seems like a limited access area being by the airport, however that has not stopped me from taking notes on what's going on.

I first noted the mast of the possibly ABS signals being installed when seeing the rather bright headlight of ES44DC 5378 creeping with 5389, Florida Rock aggregates, 206, and a C40-8. I was by the El Dorado on 72nd Avenue and looked to the east and saw the installation. The next evening, I went eastbound on Perimeter Rd especially to look at the signals being put up. Most of them look to have one 3-light aspect each. Keep in mind that I don't have much time in the day to photograph the progress.

The run around track was put up since July and since May, and as seen on Ted Marshall's photos on RRPictureArchives, you could see that they were extending a track west to connect CSX Lehigh Spur to the main.

Yet I have incorporated the progress to my CSX Miami Sub route and here it is! :) The area is still a WiP...

You can barely see it but behind the relay case in the photo above there is a to-be signal.

I still have to add all the offices in Blue Lagoon...

CSX Progress I

Well, since there is 1 week until the FECRS Convention, I decided to take a break for a week from the FEC route and focus on it's brother route, the CSX Miami Sub.

@braintrainz: You might recognize this! :) ;)

These areas are still being built.

@Martynas: Great! Please feel free to let FECRailway_Richard know as well!

I wanted to post this weekend, but was not feeling well.

@BrickBuilder711: I loaded your FECRS covention demo along with any dependent assests that I was missing. I threw a locomotive into a session and went into Driver mode.

You Blew My Socks Off!

It is hard to believe that you have accomplished so much on this route so rapidly. It is difficult to condense an area as congested as Fort Lauderdale and Miami without looking ackward; but you pulled it off in style.

I knew exactly where I was at every step of the way. I LOVE the car-fire!

People are really going to enjoy the final version of this route.

@Martynas: I am looking forward to seeing what you create. This water tower can be seen (when standing trackside) for miles in either direction. It will be one of the landmarks (like the caboose in Deerfield or the Boca Raton station with the old steam engine and FEC passenger cars) that leaves no doubt where you are at.

@BrainTrainz: Thanks for posting the link to the construction of the Boynton Beach water tower. I live close enough to see it from my crossing at Gateway Blvd along the FEC. I will be happy to get whatever addition information is needed.

This image below of the Boynton Beach Water Treatment Plant is looking west, bordered by the Florida East Coast Railway mainline on the east side, Seacrest Blvd on the west side, and SE 15th Ave (also known as Woolbright) on the north side.

Hi all,
I create this tower, see progress pics, best way for this tower creation is real textures...

Please wait:wave:

@FECRailway_Richard:

First of all I hope you feel better.

Anyway, I am extremely glad that you love it!

Well, how did you like the signals? The CDN pack was awesome.

I will see you at the convention!

@Martynas:

This is excellent, and thank you SO MUCH for the creation!

It is looking great already!

I don't know if this will help, but I have taken images of the Water Tower that at least shows the texture. I also took pictures of FEC track from the Southern Blvd overpass in West Palm Beach. They are stained concrete ties with the rails held with metal spring clips.

I know you are looking for US track textures. I'll take some of the CSX as well. The track will be newer, and they have many more overpasses in my area to shoot from.
