TUME’s Simulation of “The Milwaukee Road”

Looking very good TUME! Are you planning to release this route as a stand alone or are you planning to merge it with your Avery-Drexel route and release them as a single route? (or both?)

Hello, just some further screens about the state of progress at the MILWAUKEE-Alberton-Avery-Subdivision.
The screen shows the area between Cyr and Tarkio, Mt just where the Interstate 90 crosses the ROW. Today the I-90 consists four lanes devided in two westbound and two eastbound lanes going seperatly from each other at this particular place. But back in time when the MILW still used to be electrified, the I-90 eastbound lanes had not been constructed. Therefore in this screen you can only see the I-90 running like an ordinary road consisting east and westbound lanes in a two lane road. The road close to the tracks is old Highway 10.

Ques regarding Height on Mountain Range?

? for you TUME, if possible could you give one of your low mountain elevation readings, to high point, I see you have some Rulers in place?

 I'm just trying to find the Rate of incline up on your Mountains, I find mine are not quite Steep enough.....IF I have some kind of an Angle I can draw my Mountains better on my routes using one of your measurements as guide..........I hope this makes sense..........:o

Ok, this is an unusual question, but I'm trying to help you :-)

Here we go ...

Have fun building your routes ...

Hello,
here comes the promissed state of work screenshot about the MILW 261.
This preliminary work is about to create a nice tender texture for the MILW-S3. The segments you can see will eventually been transformed into a nice bump and normal map to create the several different light reflections at the large tender surface - which of course is not evenly smooth as it is crisscrossed by many wellds and so on.

Thank you Sir TUME, that's exactly what I needed to know.....

Now I have some kind of Rough estimate rather than the Old Eyes to figure how it should look..........

Hello Jimbiglion,

thank you very much for your kind offer!!! This may will help to make things going faster :-)
Of course there are details of this loco I am still missing suitable textures for.
As you can see I am about to create a nice looking side texture for the tender. Most complicated at the moment is the creation of a suitable normal map to implement all the light effects coming from the "weld-lines".
So if you would have a big side view, I would like to use it. It does not have to cover the whole side wall as long it would provide a great portion of a view rectangular to the surface.
Mostly people make photos from locomotives and other stuff using a view angle to get a nice looking picture. But for textures a view straight looking to the surface is the most usefull thing.
At the moment I also miss any pictures of the tender looking from above. It would especially be nice to have pictures from the water filling lids. These lids are not even part of the tender-model right now as I never found picutes to work out texture for it.

Later, I also will need severla more detailes from inside the driver cab, but at present I am about to get the tender up to date.

Again thank you very much and I wish you a nice weekend :-)

Took a quick break from my IRM route before I head off to IRM tomorrow to volunteer. Im surprise how the performance has improved slightly allowing me to take screenshots with all of my settings on Max as long as I stay on Pause, causing me to take better screenshots.

Dear Tume,

I hope you will give some time to updating your excellent Milwaukee GP9 series (280, 283, 284) to 12/TANE compatibility. They are my primary power on the Fond Du Lac Branch and were found all over the Milwaukee system.

For some reason the "A" and "3" keys do not work in 2009, 2012 or TANE.
I downloaded an original from the DLC to test in TANE. It is strange this happens, because the train brake works correctly using the RailDriver brake handle. But so far the RD doesn't work with TANE, so we're stuck with using the independent brake and that won't anchor cars decoupled on a grade.

Regards,
:B~)
