TS19 killing all previous TS?

Microsoft don't have anything to do with Trainz except proving the OS on which it runs. The original OP may have been referring to the Microsoft Train Simulator (MTS) that came out before Trainz but died fairly quickly afterwards.

In any case, the claim that TRS19 is "killing all previous Trainz versions" is total nonsense. It will not stop those people who still have TANE, TS12 or any version back to the original, running on their computer or on an old legacy machine, from using that version.

Does the release of every new model car totally remove all the previous models from the car sale yards, 2nd hand car markets, etc? Does it stop all owners of those earlier models from driving them?

pware,
You may be correct with the Microsoft comment... I could have sworn that's how I started though...
As a final post: after 24 hours to download the 466 updates, it seemed that about 2/3 downlaoded with about 1/3 timing out (red with server interrupt or can't access host)... but when I exited back to main menu, it still showed 410 updates.
On the advice here, I went through and deleted all locos and rolling stock that showed missing or faulty dependancies... I was only able to delete about a third and disabled the rest. I 'lost' about half my locos and 80% of my rolling stock, so all the work I've but into building routes for the last 8 month since buying TS12 on Steam are wasted - nothing works unless I go in and change all of my consists - which would also mean rewriting all my sessions, since my consists are all the route layer and it seems that usually wipes out my session layers.
I've removed TS12 from my machine - as my reply to Tony stated, I'll take a look at Trainz again in a few years...
Regards to all and great work keeping the community going!

I know TS2012 is end of life and no longer supported, - and I don't expect it to be, - but for what I want with a railway simulator for everyday use it does me fine.

I agree with this, although I have T:ANE and use it solely to check compatibility. As far as TRS2004 is concerned, for which I made several routes and a fair number of assets, I run it from time to time on my 20-year-old laptop, which has limited integrated graphics insufficient for any later version of Trainz, and it still gives me considerable pleasure.

Is anyone still using W98? Well, yes - until a few weeks ago it was my only means of scanning a document, although it then had to be transferred to my W10 for printing! For all its limitations, other programs on that machine still work reliably - including some very useful ones which are not compatible with W10.
