TRS19 Platinum price question.

You're quite welcome. My advice would be :

1) Get your SP1 user data folder in tip-top shape (DBR and resolve as many faults and missings as possible)
2) Copy it to a place I will call "User2"
3) Download the online installer as a new separate installation, what I will call Prgm2. Do not use the patch.
4) Point Prgm2 (SP2) at User2, download any DLC and do a DBR. See if everything lands on its feet and plays nicely.
5) If step 4 doesn't pan out, you still have your original Sp1 and user data folder safe and sound elsewhere. To use the SP1 program again, you will need to make a handful of minor registry changes for the cdp filetype and installation location, nothing earth shattering, I can send you the specifics, I have it all traced out.
6) If Prgm2 and User2 are playing nice, keep that as your new working TRS19 SP2.
7) Someday in the future when you are confident with SP2, delete the SP1. Keep your original user data folder archived. Or maybe skip this step and use the SP1 set as a fallback resource if some asset misbehaves or is overwritten.

This is similar to my process. I do a full backup of the program and data, prior to the upgrade, to my external drive. With my snapshot in place, I then download a new version rather than upgrade via the program and install from that. After a few weeks, should everything be normal, I'll remove the previous version, or in most cases copy that to another hard disk for testing since I work with Plus, and upgrade that old backup to the current version as I await a new test version.

Thank you very much deneban. At present I have an SP1 install and a separate SP2 Platinum install, but I do realise that at some stage of things I'm going to have upgrade my SP1 install and I'll certainly take note of your advice. My SP1 install has the legacy routes I've updated as well as my own routes so I definitely don't want those trashed. My SP2 install only has the DLC I've purchased over time installed so if it goes belly up it can all be setup again without too much trouble.
