TRS 12 IS RUBBISH!!!

[. Maybe the $150 might be a little far fetched but that is all that I have seen because I haven't bought a fct yet.

you can get 12 for less than $150,,,if you look the the araun shop you can get 12 starting from $49 to $54 ,,,,, just for the game...

I have to agree in part with the very first post, that I am not a fan of the new Trainz 2012, here are my list of reasons...

1. There are only 9 routes in Trainz 2012,
Now people would say download the routes from the DLS, however, if you do this, they show up faulty in the cmp with missing items that cannot be found, and do not appear in Trainz 2012 at all, however, they do appear in Trainz 2010, eventhough they do show errors.

2. The new on screen look of Trainz 2012 is cumbersum, and very frustrating and difficult to use, This is my main gripe about this horrible simulator, all the camera angles are hidden away, the DCC controller is in the bottom corner, which makes it very fiddly and sometimes hard to control.

In all the previous versions of Trainz, Trainz was superb and very easy to use, as everything was on display and easy to access. The way the trainz screen looked in the past was your signature or ID of Trainz, it was how you were remembered, without this, you will lose your identity, which may be harmful to your company in the future.

3. I have found some of the rolling stock, doesn't act like it used too back in Trainz 2010, for example, get the UK FAA container wagon consist, then in driver, unload the container consist, once empty, instant load the consist, you will now notice that all the mixed containers have been replaced by just one item, that is spread throughout the train, some other rolling stock does the same.

For these three reasons, I have decided to go back to Trainz 2010, if any future versions of Trainz have the above features, then Trainz 2012 will be my last purchase.

Please don't try to be Railworks, Railworks are Railworks, and you are Trainz, and I prefer Trainz over railworks, because your simulation was a lot easier to use, and you have a shed load of fantastic content from our superb trainz creators, which i am always thankful for.

They show up in TS12 as well. Loading a route or session doesn't require that all dependencies are present.

We don't. I've never even used it.

Shame that, you might get to see what a trainsim looks like with an up to date graphics engine.

TZ12 scores over RW3 hands down for functionality, but the graphics are more 2000 than 2012.

The other area you can't compete is with UK loco and rolling stock quality.

RW DLC is head and shoulders above yours. So is the default UK content included with RW\RW3. I see you still haven't issued an update for the half finished default BR Class 105 dmu.

I would actually pay for excellent TZ UK locos & rolling stock, with the correct custom cabs, custom sounds and dynamic numbering & names.

GWR-BR\WR of course.

Oh and while i am here, how about doing something about my help ticket. At least pretend that you care, after all up until the summer. I did sit here for 12 - 14 hours a day beta testing for you........for FREE.

I cannot comment on a DLS downloaded route in Trainz 2012, as they don't appear, however in Trainz 2010, the route appears with some textures missing, or buildings missing, or the tracks run across vast open spaces where there is no content at all including track and fencing, except for yellow lines that appear to be where the track or fencing should be, if I try and fix the issues, after a while Trainz 2010 has a tizzy fit and throws up the message...

"Trainz has encountered an error and is forced to close, memory cannot be written"

After looking this message up, I did find out that the main reason for the message was because of missing, faulty or non existent content within the trainz route.

Trainz is garbage! I got Trainz 2006 back in the day and it was garbage as well. I have been in these forums for a long while and all I have been doing is trolling around and looking at people comments and problems. It seems to me that Trainz is getting worse and that's why I will never purchase another Trainz game and what really pisses me off is that after a game has been out for a while, they will stop making content for and make everyone pay to use the Download Station! Trainz is fail. I remind here because I waiting for that one person to make a different and make it better for everyone. Clearly Auran is going to do anything about it.

Have you considered the fact that there are many of us who have not had problems and thus haven't posted about them? Just because you see lots of questions about problems, etc., on the forums doesn't mean that the majority of users are having those problems.

Regards,

Zachary.

I'm not sure what difference you expect that would make. Several of us on the team have a background in fairly 'high-end' graphics techniques, but that doesn't give us a magic wand to wave. Developing such things take time and money, lots of both.

RW DLC is head and shoulders above yours.

I'm not sure that I agree with that. Have you got a particular reason in mind when you make that claim?

I know nothing about your ticket and don't have access to the helpdesk. Anyone whom I might nudge to look into it would be on holidays until next week. Sorry.

Um, no. I have RW2 and RW3. Both are mediocre. The content is what matters, not the engine. A poorly-made object will look as lousy in RW or FSX as it does in Trainz. I'd give you a Blender file but I specifically don't license my content for use in DRM'ed sims or products like RW. I'd be game for making an object specifically for comparison, though, although I'd need an exporter for RW.

Also, is it just me, or does RW2/3 seem overall dimmer and uses darker textures, even in bright daylight? I HATE that!

You might do something to improve the god awful graphics quality of TZ.

Yes the Duchess i purchased, poor quality, graphic glitches, incorrect cabview gauges ( i have never seen a Duchess with air brakes ), never updated even though more than a few posts were made on these forums about it.

Computer specifications please. I am sure the community will help sort out your problem.

Can you either drop a ticket on the helpdesk, or start a new forum thread, that shows the 'graphic glitches' and 'poor quality' areas?

As the graphic 'glitches' should have been fixed in the update for the Duchess Class pack.

As to the brake gauges, this is due to a limitation of Trainz, and is a necessary 'change' until such a time as Trainz supports vacuum brakes.

There are a few ways that it can be done (dummy gauges, vac brake showing strange pressure, or air gauges), with each one being 'as good' as the other. In the case of our DLC's, we chose the option that will make driving easier, by simply using air brake gauges. The other options either being non functional or misleading when trying to drive the train...

Duchess is not installed, but the only file i have is the original purchase.
Where there were numerous faults and glitches.

As to vacuum brakes in TZ, you have had 10 years to implement them. So the excuse for the "gauge fudge" is rather lame.

Hi IKB
As in my previous reply, the graphic 'glitches' should have been fixed in the update for the Duchess Class pack.

If you haven't tried the update, then I really can't suggest much beyond trying the updated pack. We can't do much more than fix them ;)

Is there any notification anywhere to say that the Duchess was updated, including info on what was fixed ?

Will i have to wait another 10 years ( presuming i am not dead ), for you to implement the support of UK vacuum brake systems. Including the higher operating vacuum used on the GWR ( 25hg ).
