I have just created a new route, laid one piece of track and I can add trackside objects, but if I try to add trackside objects to any of my old routes (pre update) I get 'incompatible spline'.
Any suggestions please. I don't want to lose 13 years of work.

Yep. I'm getting that response too when I try to add a new signal to existing track. Affects speed boards too. Doesn't matter whether I use Surveyor 2 or Classic. Needs to be bug-reported. Likely to be related to the build version update. New routes are at v5.6 and your old routes before re-saving will be 5.5 or older.

Still installs as "TANE" and still doesn't delete the registry key of previous version.

I have 9 TANE apps in my Apps > Installed apps dating back to June 2023 but I have never had TANE installed on this, my current, computer. My other computers are similar. The multiple copies have never caused me any issues and I have never attempted to delete them. My advice, leave them be.

Out of curiosity did you check the logs from within the game when this happened? That will tell you if there is an error and may hint to the issue. If it does happen over and over you could try the bulk replace tool.

Getting it too on routes created before update. I edited a route config.txt file to change the route build from 5.6 back to 5.5 but it made no difference.

No problem on routes created after the update.

Problem occurs in both Trainz Plus and TRS22PE

I have found a work around for now. I change the track used to a 'built in' track with bulk asset replacement, add the trackside objects and then change the track back to original.
It works but could get a bit tedious if not repaired.

So after installing and completing DBR routes from Russia/Eastern Europe (Rostov uzel 2018, Inzer South Ural Mountains, Belarusian Woodland, Balazino - Mosti, Andrushivka, and Znamensk) all show faulty assets, far too many to list. Approx 500 assets. Almost all are packaged or payware.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue of placing track objects. The only tracks I am able to place track objects are built in ones..

Any ideas?

I was a bit hasty this morning and didn't realise a DBR was taking place in the background. The only way to get the progress of that on the screen is to hit the 'Start Trainz' button within launcher, which could be the cause of the issues you raise.

Strange! I have all these routes installed, and only "Rostov uzel 2018" shows one faulty asset (<kuid2:502415:103146:127>). This is in Trainz Plus 128486.

I will re-install Plus when the passenger component is released and it looks like a worthwhile addition.

"Incompatible spline" issue to report for me too when adding track objects in Surveyor 2.

It seems to work in Surveyor 1 though. I don't think people have mentioned that above.

We need to know specifics. What is the kuid of the track? What is the trackside object? I only remember seeing this issue once but that was a long time ago. I have no problem in Trainz Plus using this patch to attach trackside objects.

Installation of SP5 created the key: trs23_q2-com.n3vgames.trs22-windows-1a8b31b55c53f8d448575130093a90e2. I am running Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045-5247, maybe it's at another location in other OS versions.

Still hidden for me (Trainz Plus 128486).

Same here. I opened up the Client logs and watched the progress. This bug, and yes it's a bug, has been with us since at least three service packs ago. The first time this occurred, it caught me out and I ended up corrupting my database and that took me two days to straighten out. Now, check for the DBR process even though the progress bar doesn't show.
