Great idea for keeping your corner sound and safe!

Looks cool but must say its gotta get a little bit uncomfortable, standing there,or sitting in that stool:hehe:

No after years of slipping $0.20 coins in them you get used to it, its not really my main trainz PC got my trainz beast 2 and lappie for that but I put TC on on it just to test it out, its main roll is a meida server and meida player and internet access but it can be used to play games.

i would cut a slit in the wood just below the rail driver and put in one of those keyboard things from a desk you can buy at goodwill. You know the thing that you put your keyboard and mouse on and it slides in and out.
Yah that!

LOOKS NICE

I sort of under coated as I went along as Chipboard and MDF are not really good drinkers.

There is some deabte over the finally Colour I want gloss black of course, but there is some call for a nice battleship grey .

Rail driver was only there for the photos, the keyboard will be sunk into the top of unit when I get round to digging out my router. I pna to add a few retro games like pacman, space invaders and such like, which you really have to stand up to play or its not real.

Turn it into a loco.
Paint it up as a short nose cab.Extend around the screen sideways as windows & draw a picture of yourself in it.It's already got wheels just add a coupling in front Mount a old air horn on top a coupla lights & smoke stack.

I would definately think about some air supply to the area the PC stand is located. It looks as if it could get very warm in that area ??

That looks kind of familiar Mr Bear. :)

I posted these sometime last year, and when I saw your post I had to see if I'd left them on my webspace.

due to its design its like a chimeny and the hot air gets sucked out the top there is no top and vents on the bottom

I can not see you photos Smileyman :(
Really?
They're on AOL's webspace, so it's probably your firewall cookie settings that's stopping them.
I've heard other people have had trouble seeing pics on AOL for that reason.

Shame, as I think you might have enjoyed them.

Try pasting the picture's URL in your browser directly.

WOW was it a kit or a DIY

Completely DIY.
Thick MDF wood, dismantled large screen TV, scratch built electronics system for the controllers and buttons.

And I've done the same as you where the back is concerned.
No back to the top half of the back, and plenty of ventilation holes all down the bottom half of the back.
It got through last summer without problems so you should be ok with yours.
I have mine angled in the corner so that it gets a good airing, so if you find yours heats up a bit, you might want to angle it or pull it out a bit.

It's one of those jobs that will probably never be finished 100%, but it's great fun tinkering with it every weekend, and I don't think a day goes by without someone playing one of the games on there. :)

Well done

Shows great minds think a like, I did not know that there was so many people into retro gaming and machines until I started to look around on the internet, was only going to use it a normal PC. But now looking round the internet also having it as a MAME machine looks like a buzz.

I was thinking that it was some sort of novelty but there are so many people out there that have done the same.

I see many hours of fun tinkering around with mine and the more I think about it a control deck would look good and be fun to build.

My idea came from a guy I know would built his as a tv/video stand and DVD rack.

Amazing what you can do with some power tools, timber, glue and screws.
