Trainz crashing on boot-up....

Now I have a new crash issue. As I lay down ANY loco or preset train with a loco, the game crashes as I click on the track to apply the loco/train to the session. It's fine if it is any rolling stock or rolling stock only consist. I already did a full data base repair, searched all the missing/faulty/warning tabs in CMP. Nothing out of the ordinary there. All 10 crashes so far have created this exact crash log:

Anyone who can translate this have an idea as to why I can't put down my power units?

That is concerning - it's reporting that you appear to have no physical memory installed.

It may be worth checking the Jetlog.txt file for any related information. (Note: you may need to add certain trainzoptions entries - see my blog for details).

Shane

It is odd, I do have 8G memory intalled and it rarely breaks 25-30% use when running trains. These error reports always show 0 physical memory though and I never figured out why. I'll look at the jetlog.txt and see if there is anything there worth noting.

I hate to double post, but I can't seem to get edit to work at the moment.

I noticed these stood out to me

Jetlog:

Upon stating TAD DAEMON

? 0:00.1 : DataManager::RegisterTrainzBumpVertexType> Unable to load 'm.tbumpglosscol'

Later in the log.

TrainzTaskLock::LockNoDeadlock> deadlock detected, abandoning lock attempt! twice

TADThread_WriteDatabaseLocal> Rename("c:\program files\ts12/UserData/cache/assets.tdx", "c:\program files\ts12/UserData/assets.tdx") failed twice

Current Trainzoptions:

-StencilBits=8
-Jet=bin

-DynamicVertexBufferSize=4194304
-DynamicIndexBufferSize=196608
-VBO
-width=1024

-framerate=200

EDIT

Added the Trainzoptions add on lines.

Edit2
NOW edit post wants to work. Sheesh.

That happens to me sometimes.

The deadlock messages usually crop up if TrainzUtil is running. Usually, if this is running for an unusually long time, it indicates possible faulty files.

Did anything appear regarding missing textures or anything similar?

Shan

No, nothing I am using has anything to do with weird meshes, textures, or the like. The items that do have these issues are red on the pick list anyway. I'm saving those fixes for a rainy day when I don't feel like building or driving.

I must say, for all the fun and enjoyment I do get from this sim, I do see some rather uniquely interesting problems/fixes such as this one.

I did however fix every thing. I had to, for one time, edit from the route layer to place a loco, then save, then I was able to load and continue my construction unabated in session layer. Crashes have stopped, for now. After receiving the jetlog advice, I chose to clear it and see what fresh info it produces for the crashes. These particular crashes do not produce any info in the jetlog as it was still blank after recreating 3 more crashes on purpose to see what it says.

I do appreciate you taking the time to help me since I do not know how to read and translate computer languages.

Many thanks,
Jason

As I do programming sometimes, I am familliar with certain issues.

If you have any faulty items these must be fixed.

It's also worth checking if the issue affects just one route or all routes.

Shane

Observation: Your Trainzoptions.txt is showing a screen resolution of 1024x768 is that correct and is it the monitors native resolution? if not it needs correcting and may well be contributing to the problem.

That is the native resolution for my monitor.

These are only showing up as warnings. I currently show 0 faults. I deal with the faulty que as they appear. I leave warnings for the rainy day stuff. As far as faulty dependencies are concerned. I have a few I don't know how to fix. They are all unknown kuids with my own kuid prefix numbers. These have never given me any problems since purchasing the sim, so I've chosen not to poke the hornest's nest until I find the safe and solid correction.

Just to make sure I do not miss anything out here, can I check that you have the latest drivers installed?

Failing that, check your antivirus settings to make sure it's set to ignore the Trainz folder(s).
