Trainz 22 not launching on Mac "TRS22 is damaged..."

Just bought the game (Platinum Edition) and installed on my Mac (M2 Pro, 16 Gb, macOS Sequoia) but on trying to launch, it goes through the verification process and then gives a system error - "TRS22 is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the bin"

I've reinstalled a few times but no luck.
Tried changing the install location
Tried turning off the Platinum Edition DLC, but nothing worked so far.

Anyone have any ideas, please.

I should mention, I bought it on Steam.

Are you running more than 1 version of TRAINZ on that Mac? Do you have enough space left on ssd/hard drive? Are you actually getting the install file or is it crashing and burning before you get it downloaded? It may have created multiple files within /Users/yourname/Library/Containers/.....games.n3v......../Data/Actual folder created by TRAINZ is the Data folder path on a Mac.
If you can't see ~Library folder it is hidden by default. Go into 'Finder' and click on 'Go' on the top menu bar. Hold down the 'Option' key on your keyboard. You'll now see the hidden all the hidden Mac files.
If there are multiple folders in the Data folder, you only need one. Choose the one that works and ditch the others once you verify that there is a working one.

Thanks for the reply.

There's just the one version of Trainz installed.
There's plenty of space on the ssd.
The game downloads fine on Steam. Upon hitting 'play', it goes through 'verifying' and completes that before giving the system error; "TRS22 is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the bin".

I don't seem to have the 'games.n3v' folder within '/Users/yourname/Library/Containers/...'
Unless, I'm somehow misinterpreting the folder name?

The file 'TRS22' is within the usual /Users/*username*/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022

sounds like Sequoia broke the game , after all its only just been released and I've known new mac os's to not have been tested in all the compatible software out there , its simply impossible. It may well be something that is conflicting with the games install. best ask the helpdesk if there are known issues with the new 0S.

So, got it going. It was a permissions issue.

The normal control click/right click and 'open' didn't work.

I managed to get it going after going to System Settings>Privacy and Security and explicitly giving it permission.

Hope this helps someone else....

Thanks for all the help!

This worked for me too!
For additional details, leave the warning open from Steam.
Then go into
System Settings
Privacy & Security
, then scroll to the bottom. You'll see a prompt to allow the application to launch.

I got another warning from Steam about damaged files after that but ignored it.

Hit Start and it worked!
