The Pride of your model railroad

as sad is this may sound... i actually refer to my faviourite as 'Pride of the line'

The current holder of this prestigious title is a GWR Pannier Tank
made by Bachman

The Smoothest Runner is a Hornby Fowler 2-6-4T in LMS Maroon Livery

The Winner of Best Rolling Stock goes to a LMS Breakvan made by hornby which features a working tail light

The Best Junk Award (thats right this model came from the local Rubbish Transfer Station) goes to A German Diesal Shunter (0-6-0) which posseses directional lights and is blue and was boxed

All Locos/Rolling Stock are OO Guage

Warning! Large Images to follow!

My Pride...
1. Best Overall:
-A 1960's Mantua/Tyco 4-4-0 "General" that runs superbly. I hear that these are hard to find in working condition!
2. Best with my younger cousins:
-A Bachmann Thomas the Tank Engine (hence the username!).
3. Best puller:
-A Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 A.T.S.F. Consolidation
4. Best Hunk 'o Junk:
-A Rivarossi 4-4-0 V&T Iyno. It realy needs an overhaul!
5. Best Forign Loco:
-A discontinued Bachmann Hogwarts Express.
Those are Mine! I hope to see what everybody else's are!

Here are two more pics of my 218 which I took last night as sort of a lighting test, they came out far better than I thought they would.

Have Maglite, have HO track (as a camera mount), will take pictures.

pict8483zp1.jpg

This one was a test exposure shot (8 seconds), I think I bumped it.

Note: neither of these pictures have been edited at all, the only thing I've done is change the image format so imageshack would accept it.

Wilee: You live in Germany?...Great. lol...

Well, here's a pic of the pieces anyways...

And just a few shots of my other German loco (which is in BEAUTIFUL condition):

And just for the curious...a shot of my Rivarossi Big Boy!

Can't make my mind up between these...

Favourites_2Jan08.jpg

Hornby Class 60, Bachmann 66, Bachmann 57 and a Hornby 08. All stunning models and run beautifully under DCC control. Only problem child is the 57 which is very picky about trackwork. :(

Cheers

I couldn't resist

A 66? You run a microwave on your layout? My this infestation is worse than I thought, first they start creeping into freight service along the Rhein, and now it comes to this? Beware... the invasion is coming:hehe:

Id have to say my 5'' gauge live steam QR PB15, looks like the real thing, works like the real thing, cause it is the real thing, only smaller......

hurleyco.

Well, I loved my Lima Deltic which I carefully repainted in a better shade of corporate blue and put on new numbers and nameplates (was it 55007 Pinza?)

Anyway, it's been in a box in my mate's attic now for 28 years! :'(

Pride of my collection eh?

Best steam:
Pendennis Castle by Hornby (great runner, and is on DCC)

Best diesel:
VR S class by Hornby (not the best runner, but it's an S class and is on DCC! :P)

Second best steamie is my VR V class 2-8-0 by 'linkline'/'powerline'/'frateschi'
Nice little loco, not a great runner and doesn't have DCC (yet).

Pic of my S and V on some junk flex track sitting on my new (under construction) layout.

Recently the sun decided to take a peek out of the clouds without checking that I was awake, so before it could hide I whipped out my camera and my section of S 49 rail and took some pictures...

In N scale I have...

Some of us can't resist tinkering even when the model is a stunner to start with. This is the Class 08 in my earlier pic and it was only when I started attacking this model with my paintbrush I realised just how much detail there is...

08630_16Jan08.jpg

Certainly not the Hornby of my youth and it's a little strange to be messing around with a 3 dimensional Class 08 model after spending months working on a Trainz version. :)
