The Alabama & Southeastern RR WIP Thread (Large Screenies)

"derelict sinistred boxcar" (from the "derelict" series). I combined two so it looks like two cars were coupled together and left to rot.
There are also three "western man" figures around "drum fire."

Whoop whoop, we've hit 400 posts!!!

Holy 1986 batman! I haven't seen these things in FOREVER. I almost miss working on them...not really, EMD for the win. But in this case, we have three of the A&SE's old RS27's leading a TofC train. Let's see...this would've been TC726 back in the day.

More throwback shots to come soon! My next 3 projects will be all n8phu equipment. Be on the lookout for C630's, C420's, and B36-'s (hint hint).

:D

Oddly enough (especially after the whole "Doug" incident) the A&SE does not have very many OLS units. 1901 was the only old scheme unit to wear the OLS scheme, and we have only painted maybe 10 more units in our roughly 1000 unit roster in the scheme.

The Alabama & Southeastern part or the OPERATION LIFESAVER part? The A&SE part is built in to gimp and the OLS part came with the logo I picked up.

Working on a new scene on the A&SE just as a break from all of the main street shots. Yes I know it's just about the same exact thing, but this time it has a golf course in the background! And by developing this little section here, it opens up a wider range of shots for me. The texture work is pretty rushed and kinda sloppy, but it doesn't matter, this is pretty much my personal copy of the route (an older version, I don't have all of the deps yet for the one that we're working towards releasing). You get a basic feel for it in this shot, I ran a few GP35's lite to test the crossing I replaced.

More progress!
Gigantic F842 Passing through the crossing.

A little perspective on how huge this train is. Also, I see our first gensets on this train for delivery!

Conrailfan on a golf course (uh oh)...

And the reason why I'm never letting conrailfan golf again. Ever. (notice that the gigantic freight train even stopped to see what was going on)

There's good news and bad news. Good news is there's a good chance I'll have all of the deps for V.4 today and will start work on V.5 soon. Bad news is I'm probably going to be up till 2 in the morning working on a science project.

Update: Down to 14 deps and 22 slides on people I really don't give a crap about!

Well, so much for that golf course... But in better news, The A&SE Alabama Division V5 is officially underway!
Celebratory screeny: A&SE SD33-3 3315 switches a mill at Brierfield, Al. (One of your crossings was a dud there Oliver)

Cool shots guys, btw sean you did the atls on that crossing not me, just reconnect the ajs invisable track to it from the other crossing and it will work,

You screwed it up somehow, because both of the crossings worked perfectly fine when I did it in V3. It should be fixed now. Along with the other crossings you made but didn't connect the track on.

School starts late for me today, which means progress screeny time! At the moment I'm working on the last textured town area on the line, Oak Grove, which I'd say is about 6-7 miles south of Autumnville. It's coming along very nicely so far. Caught Amtrak 55 at Oak Grove today as well as southbound C578, which had A&SE 6899 as one of the helpers.

We've had 6899 with us for about 9 months now. We're supposed to get 4 others but there's been a hold up. Apparently the others won't start. The units have been deadlined for about 7 years. And they had no fuel. So we're running 6899 with another SD40-2 until her sisters show up.

well lets hope the repairs or whatever can be done soon!

Still slowly toiling away at V5. In other news, FURX finally got one of the remaining four to crank over. It's shipping down to Autumnville from Paducah, should get here in 2 days, then it'll get some mechanical repairs and patches like the ones 6899 is wearing before going into service. The one on its way was slated to be 6896.
