T:ANE (in development) screenshots...

Not bought it yet but I would say that T:ANE has hit its majer goal: To bring Trainz up to reasonably up to date standards.
While it is able to easily do that, its the way N3V served it to the public that spoiled its image a bit. If N3V were to release a simple update that changes the gfx/PP settings to something like the above pictures, I think a lot of people would have a second thought of how good TANE really is.

@ ATSF854:

Hallo - it Looks like you implemented some of my ground texture and gravel road assets. Thats great - together with the trees your route must be a bit closer to season Change now :-)
I guess this RR would look great in a snowy winter :-)

Post processing enhancements are indeed great however the settings cannot be saved. I've simply made adjustments to the environment settings in a new 'test' route and still get decent results.

Good, more users are finally realizing what the post-processing effects are capable of. Hopefully, the public now can see that it isn't "TS12 with shadows." Completely transforms a TS2004 route with dynamic sun lighting, HQ shadows, and photogenic blurs/sharp focus to give the game a modern overhaul.

On another note, this post is ironic due to the fact that I said I will get the game only if it does well, giving it 6 months... :o

Well a fully seasonal version of this route would be a very large undertaking, even larger than what it already is. Although I do like how this route looks in the winter.

Stunning screenshots! Would it be possible for you to share your post processing/environment settings with us?

R3

Since the game reset them for some reason, I tried to reset it back. It's pretty close to what Tram is using, but you also have to adjust the colors of the environment like you see in his images.

I agree. Those shots look really good. What trees did you use for replacement?

This scene uses some JVC trees and the built in hemlock trees. I really really wish somebody would make some speedtree engelmann spruce trees or black spruce trees, but yeah with my luck it would end up being me making them somehow.

More than 70% of shots on this thread look TS12-like. It's simply a matter of taking a few minutes to tweak the shaders, and there you go. A realistically-lit, shaded, bright environment :D

Totally agreed Ever Trainz. N3V really need to apply such settings by default. If they do this in time for their next major release. Presumably TS 2016 they can create a really great trailer and get some of those "trainz 2012 with shadows" hold outs on board.

Anything made with TS12 and earlier assets are going to look like TS12ish and lighting tweaks in TANE isn't going to totally hide that. I think (and hope), that the wows we are saying now, will be WOWs in 6 months time when enough TANE specific content is available.

Kimo, lovely shot, well done all.
