T:ANE (in development) screenshots...

Thanks everyone! It seems that T:ANE doesn't save the post-processing settings, so you have to keep changing it back each time you launch the game. I usually open up the post-processing settings and change them while the game is running, that way I can see the changes as I make them.

Round 2...

I'm not really a fan of these particular SpeedTrees, but they are an improvement over the billboard trees, IMHO. Hopefully some better alternatives become available at some point!

Great stuff ericmp.

Gotta love that post processing goodness!

I also find environment settings play a major role in getting that realistic look. Any chance of including an image of your settings ?

Steve.

Thanks guys!

Here is my complete set of post-processing & environmental settings used for that last set of screens:

And now some more screens! I apologize to anyone that knows U.K. railways enough to know that this consist is probably not very accurate.

Last set for today. Don't be fooled by these...unlike the last two sets, frame rates in the set were unsurprisingly (but abysmally) low. Still, it gives an idea of what T:ANE is capable of.

very well done Eric,
i did some post processing trials and this is an amazingly nice tool allowing superb effects and look and feel. I did not see any frame rate drop though maybe you touched something i did not try yet.
Beautiful shots again
here an example of mine i played with just to get the hang of it and i like what it does. Tomorrow more trials.

Many thanks Eric,

this'll be a great help to those of us running T:ANE and give inspiration to change the default settings N3V chose to give us so that we can finally run Trainz in an realistic environment.

Mods. Perhaps these settings can be pinned to the top of the screenshots page for maximum exposure?

Steve.

It will also help for people who want to use post processing in other versions as well. It was nice to post, as I only knew how to change the water color.

So what I'm gathering is you can't actually run the game with it looking as good as it does in Eric's shots? You can only process them using the tools provided with the game to make it look good? I thought this was supposed to be a simulator, not a screenshot creation station........... wow. shame on n3v. just shame.

Shame you don’t know what you are talking about. Of course you can run the game with these settings.

Paul

In the next update made to TANE, they should allow the post processing settings to be saved instead of having the settings revert back to default every time the simulator is started.

If the game actually works or runs at over 3 fps?
If you really only get 3 FPS, there is something seriously wrong with either your hardware, the settings that control the hardware, or both. Too many people have more than adequate frame rates to simply say that T:ANE is not capable.

I really want N3V to make a way to save setting in developer mode. These screenshots make T:ANE look like Train Simulator 2015. I tested these settings on my computer (i7-4790k, 8gb ram, GTX 970, T:ANE max settings) and I was getting around 40+ fps with speed trees and all. The potential is there, but not everyone can go out and buy a $1000+ computer. :(

I've yet to buy the game. I'm simply going from the 3 users I've spoken to about it and none have had a good or even mediocre experience so far. One of which has the same setup as you Kevon which is what I also run.

Exactly. The screenshots with the post processing effects on that Ericmp have look better than Train Simulator 2015. From the update map for TANE, I don't think it will be fully complete till 2017. Not everyone needs a computer over $1000 to run Trainz on. I built two computers between $500 and $700 and they both run previous version of Trainz great.
