Suspension bridges with a long base!

Hello Fellows!

I have a desert route, and it has many many deep valleys, rivers, canyons, etc -- At the DLS there's over a thousand track bridges, so I'm hoping to narrow that down with your guys help!

Searching for any Suspension bridges, or other that have very long pillars / beams to reach the bottom ... the longer the better!

The main section of my Oresund bridge is 1040m long and has 200m high pillars. I think it would do as a suspension bridge.
Since I learned about LOD a few years laters, it is a bit high on the poly count, though for an asset that is over 1 baseboard long it should not be a problem.

Actually, what I am going to do is plug it into my desert route, and call that section ... "The O Path" ... :p ...

You know, O, you gave me an idea here -- From your bridge right into your trenches, and then I'll surround that area with my countless of skyscrapers! :hehe:

1. Suspension bridges are not normally used for trains. This doesn't mean they can't and/or haven't - its just rare.
2. They are incredibly expensive. No RR will use them or any large bridge unless absolutely necessary and I can't image a RR using one in the desert.
3. Why so many bridges in the first place. RR's avoid them like the plague because they are so expensive. It a route needs a bunch the tend to survey a better route.
4. If you absolutely must have a large (long) bridge or two I suggest a cantilevered truss design. I have made a few.
5. Bridges longer then a single baseboard are not a problem - I've made a few of those as well.

suspension bridges are designed to sway and bend so a railroad would not use them as derailment would be very high risk. Viaducts would be the best practice for such areas.

Yep, I think I use the wrong turn here -- However, I decide to mass product bases for all kind of bridges -- Bridges are limited, in terms of their pillars in height, so the best solution right now is launch 3dmax, and create all sorts of base pillars from concrete to break, to steel, etc ...
