Spam Attacks

oh great, more spam on the forum, not just on the trainz a new era section but in general trainz as well, time to report to the mods!

We've been nuked.

well , I've already reported one spam-infested post by one supposed at first user which turns out to be another unregistered id just posting with no game version on the timeline, hopefully Ryan and/ or another mod will take care of this ongoing problem.

It should all be gone now...

For some reason I woke up this morning & just knew I was going to have to deal with a spam attack here...

time to clean out the general trainz section once again more spam has now just popped up that is either the second or third time I have been reporting attacks every time I log in, I don't know why unregistered users insist on posting useless junk when no version of the game shows up next to there name, but spamming the forum with useless junk is not only frowned upon, but also unacceptable.

Spammers are not just unregistered users ... it is an organized attack on the Forum by multiple slave PCs, intent on disrupting service ... there is no logic behind it ... it is a mass attack ... and they have nothing better to do than to intentionally sabotage and destroy

The spammers could be one person, or an organized group of multiple persons, examples: Someone in Germany, or California impersonating Korean spam messages ... or one disgruntled Community member here on the Forum, who is upset about T:ANE, who is impersonating Philippine language ... Who knows

And the spammers may be using your own PC as one of their slave Spamming units ... without you even knowing it

Multiple entries on the forum now , I gave up reporting through the shear number of identical spam threads !!

Surely easier to lock the forum down with just access to those with registered copies of Trainz for a few days . The spammers know they can get in now , If your going to leave the door open then they'll use it !!

There is a whole can of worms and multiple threads that debate the use of restricting newbies. The best thing to do for now is report 1 or 2 spam threads per spam creator as everyone does the same and the mods will deal with them. I noticed they are good at killing them in a timely manner. I believe that these boneheads are people and not bots as these threads seem to apear in a slow sequence rather than all at once. I just think of them as hiccup and move on.

It 22:50 (local time) so it must be Spam Time in S. Korea - or is it actually N. Korea where a certain weird little fellow with a funny haircut and who wears strange outfits must think of himself as a railroad tycoon. Duly reported.

I believe that these boneheads are people and not bots as these threads seem to apear in a slow sequence rather than all at once.

The "slow progression" may be due to the fact that the forum will not let anyone post two messages less than, I think, 1 minute apart - that must really be annoying to the spammer(s).

There's only one potential downfall there BLACKWATCH. It makes it harder for users like me who end up having to reply on quite a few different threads in quick succession when helping other users out.
