Hello Everybody,
I would like to share some information on Monticello Railway Museums steam locomotive, 2-8-0 #401. After 14 years of work, she will be steaming again! I would like to dedicate this thread to all the folks at MRM who have worked long hours to restore her. Now as we get ready paint her we realize that its finally almost over! Yes, it has been rewarding to all of us, I never got to work on it but have followed it with great interest!
If any of you are interested in finding out more about the locomotive, follow my link and you will find a page with information in the projects page! If you know about this locomotive or have been to MRM please leave a post! Also post if you visited my link! Thank You!
Cheers, Woody.:)

Nice to hear. Should be a coal burner though. It's a disgrace to all things Southern! :hehe:

Yes, I to was disappointed, but coal is not common in the museums area, unless it is sulphur, which is not at all eviro-friendly. Getting coal shipped in is also very expensive. Oil is cheaper than coal in that aspect, so at the museums discretion, we decided to go with oil. The museum is proud of her and will run her once a month to start with. The museum originaly ran two steam locomotives until aquiring RS-3 #301 which is now Illinois Central #704.
Cheers, Woody
PS tell me if you used my link!
