Somewhat confused - tank car amounts

Get over it
The tank cars that I use have 2 loads. Load 1 and load 2 because they are capable of loading many different items. I load crude oil in load 1 and have disabled all the items in load 2 BUT after loading at a loading station (refinery) the tank car is showing 91,700 units for load 1 and 91,700 units for load 2. As stated I have no items showing in load 2. Is the game/sim/program seeing 1 load at 91,700 units or is it seeing 182,400 units? What the heck is a unit? I have 19 tanks cars fully loaded with 2 Dash 9's and they are struggling on a flat route. The lead loco is pulling 3165 tons. Based on Phil's rule of thumb, 1hp for each ton, 2 dash 9's should be plenty of power. How do you arrive at that figure of 3165 tons? Thanks.

Thought about including some of the cars that I use but didn't think they would be needed. Anyway, I'm using mostly yutzk's cars and 22alpha's cars. Some of yutzk's cars - 127320:300006:1, 300013:1, 14:1 and 16:1.
Some of 22alpha's - 175455:1670, 1672. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Since I've not had time to download the cars and install any of 22alpha's or Yutzk's cars, I'm venturing a bit in the dark, here, but I'm guessing that a unit is a liter for these cars, as doing the necessary math, this would represent a 33,000 gallon car (AAR classification T109). The maximum weight of the car and load, fully loaded to weight capacity, would be 286,000 pounds (143 tons).

As to calculating the weight of the train, it's a matter of calculating the total weight of each car (total weight being the weight of the car, plus whatever is loaded in it), and locomotive, and adding them all together. If the cars are T109's, and fully loaded to weight capacity, this would be 19 X 143, + 2 X 212.5 for a total of 3142, close to the amount in game. The difference between what is calculated in this estimate, and the amount calculated in game is 20 T, which might be accounted for by a different sized fuel tank in the model, than in the specifications I consulted for the weight on the Dash9 44CW page I consulted on Wikipedia.

My best guess is that the Enginespec for the locomotives needs tweaking; I'd expect a single Dash 9 (4400 hp) to be able to handle the train with ease. You might contact the creator of the locomotive, and ask for a revised enginespec.

Or you could do what that one guys sig says,

If you can't move the train you need mah horsepower (or a steam loco :hehe:)

Thanks for the replies. Mjolir, that is what I suspected. The engine specs needing a tweaking. I will look into it. Thanks again.
