Hills and map shots for Timber Ridge Line
A good Friday to all,
Xmas is almost upon us,,I hope all is well with you folks and Santa brings what you really like for Xmas. And it looks like we might have Rain coming on Xmas day here in So Cal, of course with the Drought, I'm not holding my breath, but if we get some, that would be a wonderful Natural Xmas Present for sure. Our hills have some nice green on them for a change.
Now lets see? What I have I been up too, well I went and got a hold of some more European and New Zealand Rolling Stock, the only problem is, some of the Versions are very low, in the 2.0, 2.5, and you know T:ANE and it's error checking, I have lots of Mesh issues, so since I'm not a asset Modeler, all I can do is delete the Asset and move on......I don't think PEV's tools fix Shadow Mesh, Reskin does not match parent, or some of the other weird messages the T:ANE pops off with........The good thing is, I am able to fix a lot of the Minor TAG missing or Errors, and I find the word "null" is not liked at all, it either needs 0 value or in some cases the whole Tag has to be removed......
One of the things I need to due is make up a Cheat Sheet for the all the errors I come across......
With that said, I got quite a bit of nice Rolling Stock now, and this coming year, I need to weed out some of the old stuff I had since I started with Trainz, my count for now is 484,000 Assets and Routes..As for the Routes I need to go thru them and weed them out too.
I keep a Excel Spreadsheet of all the Routes I download with comments etc, it helps me to weed out the ones I don't care for or don't have what I'm looking for..
It's a little work, but really pays off later.
Over at Timber Ridge Line I have been working on this Logging area, re-leveling, and adding more Tracks, and Engine Houses, it doesn't show here as this is a bit older picture.

This is how the Tile additions came out, after adjusting all the elevation issues.

Closer view of the area. One thing, I don't recall if I mentioned or not, I had a large area where I ran a new circle of Track to eat up the elevation Drop. A little off center, you can see the large body of Water I made here, haven't figured out what I'm going to due with it for now, I might be some Port Work or it could just be Sail Boats. Or possibly a logging chute area? The future will tell later when I revisit it.

Over here at the bottom of the Grade, I took most of the flat Desert here on the right side, and made small hills.
Took what was a straight as an arrow tracks, and made some good running curves, which again done too knock out more of those steep elevation issues., and it worked out beautifully for me. Plus I think it adds a more interesting view in this single Tile area too.......Over on the left upper side, I'll need to add a tile to smooth down the cut off look of those high mountains there. Maybe 2 tiles for good measure.

Over on the right side, I tilted the ends of Tiles up into small hills and now it looks great in this side of the Tracks. Were using a couple of Shays to work over the logging operation to see how the Track layout works. But I added a lot more Team Tracks and other things after this picture.........The Stub track on left end of the Logging loader didn't quite allow me the flexibility I needed to move skeleton Cars around. So I changed it up.......
And over here, I decided to dig out some dirt and make a nice drainage area for Snow Melt, and I will probably make some more puddle type lakes.

I little different view on this end the tracks going straight to Right go about 2 miles or so, and terminate the end of this Route into a Portal.
I'm thinking I will merge another NG Route on this end to continue the Rail Run, this is future talk, as I have several other Routes I should work on to finish......Sound familier, I think I have about 8-10 Routes in various stages of change up.

Closer up the Ridge Route here I changed the Bridge direction, and sloped the mainline to the left, dropped another bridge in with a Rocky wash area. This area like a lot of other spots is not finished.

From the Top of the Ridge Route looking down into the Desert Community way out in the horizon. I am pleased with the new direction of Mainlines. And the Grade is just over 2.0%.

This is the upper end of the Route, far ahead to right, is Snow protected Shed, that is an actual Wye up here. When the Snow's get heavy, there a small avalanches to contend with, so we built these snow Sheds to protect our track movements when bad weather sets in.
IF you have a Question about anything in the pictures etc, you're always welcome to ask..........I'm more than happy to share my thoughts on how and why I make the changes etc.
I suppose the word that comes to mind, Kit Bashing has something to do with how I make my changes, or "Necessity is the mother of invention" and I do have necessities......
That'll do for today.........Thanks for coming by.
