@smyers:

Wow! That is incredible! Great work. Makes some of my stuff look like child's play.

@EPA those screenshots are amazing and going to be honest your route looks fun to play on. Maybe someday it'll be finished ;)

@Hert I can already saw your junction looks busy already. Can't wait to see that area filled with scenery :D

Cheers

Todays progress... slowly moving towards the 50% mark...

Also thanks to Dinorius_Redundicus for creating some new snow splines so now they look better when placed in the middle of the highway :D

Thanks!

The route has a working title of "Cascade Pass II" (we don't talk about Cascade Pass I). It's heavily inspired by the Marias Pass route, one of my all time favorite Trainz routes, but I haven't really figured out an actual setting yet.

I haven't made any real progress on this one in a while, but here are some new screenshots.

Amazing pictures :)
Marias Pass is a really nice route; I've been out there in 2021 on Amtrak (thanks to the $300 Railpass special) and saw the Trainz version isn't too far off from the real thing.

@shaun_rt: Actually, those are the old VMD models. I've modified them a bit to blend in a bit better with modern JR content.

@hiawathamr: Thanks! Yeah, I partially blame Trainz for my desire to visit that area, Kalispell, Whitefish, and Glacier National Park, etc. But not just to see trains, but because that really is a beautiful part of the country. Maybe a road trip idea, since taking Amtrak would mean backtracking all the way to Chicago first. What I really want to see is a new version of the Marias Pass Route for TRS19/22, but it seems as though, aside from a few teasers here and there, the HP guys have been very quiet lately.

Haha I did the same and I can say it was worth blaming the game for wanting to see the real thing :)
I can tell you it is very beautiful out there in the Rockies. Only boring part I would say are the Montana prairies but depending on travel will depend if you go through them or not. At least its something like 80mph out there so not a super long time.
Another beautiful ride is the California Zephyr through the mountains outside of Denver which I was also on from the Railpass that is worth checking out someday when you have the time (and money).

Cheers

Todays progress at a new intersection that can only be seen from map view but not street view...

Your route is looking awesome. I took a nice screenshot but the track decided to not load when I took it:
