Hi Jamie,
Casper, this has probably been answered but in your italian route, where do all your locomotives and rolling-stock come from??
Jamie
I don’t think anyone has asked before. It doesn’t really matter - feel free to ask any time.
Most of the locos are from TrainzItalia free section. You can find them here
http://www.trainzitalia.com/index.php
Go to the Main Menu (Menu Principale), which is to the top left of the screen, where you will see links to their free and pay sections. There is active work on 2010 stuff as well as items for earlier editions. It’s pretty easy to navigate, even if you don’t understand Italian. The Google browser translate function helps if you need it.
I also got the catenary items, trees and load of houses there as well. There is a lot of catenary. It took a bit of working out, but is well worth it if you want to add all of the correct poles, tensioners, counterweights etc. It’s very prototypical of the Italian system.
Rolling stock is a bit of a mix. I’m not sure which ones you mean, but this just about covers the lot (well the Italian ones anyway!)
There are rolling stock items on the TrainzItalia site. Use the same link as for the locos.
I’ve done a few PaintShed passenger carriage re-skins in Trenitalia colours, and some tankers with upgraded bogies.
The flatcars (with the steel coils added by me) are, “SNCF Plat a hausiettes”, kuid:2:244265:1721:1 and a version with vertical side bars (ranchers) kuid:2:244265:1720:1. You can get these on the DLS.
I also often use some excellent Trenitalia double deck ADP carriages by kjellverschuren (thanks Mats! You are very talented). He has created a nice web site where you can get these:
www.matsverschuren.eu. The interiors are nicely finished and the doors work, sliding open at interactive stations. When you go into his site, click on the Dutch flag, scroll down to the table at the bottom of the page. The carriages are the first selection under the heading, ”Downloadpagina’s”.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Casper
